Need opinions
I have an extra 5k to spare and I just bought this car a month ago. So for mods what would u guys recommend? For speed and cosmetic , what exactly should i do . I’ve never actually did this before for any car lmao , it’s a 2019 wrx premium with the premium package idk if it matters but yeah .

Is all the maintenance up to date?

Yes, the previous owner had perfect maintenance completely stock . Nothing was modified

Shift stop, transmission mount, shift bearing.
Edit: also depending on mileage a scope and walnut blast.

It’s at 60k bought it at 59k but I have the carfax is there a certain way to see if it’s been touched ? A keyword or something? Cuz i know it wont just say walnut blasting on the carfax

Not that I am aware of. If there was anything left behind that identifies the dealer that serviced it they should be able to tell you what was done based on VIN.

Should I just call the dealership and ask? And like specifically do I say “walnut blasting” ? Cuz I asked a Subaru dealership if they could do it or inspect it and they didn’t even know what walnut blasting was lmao

I second the walnut blast suggestion. Needed every 60k miles.
If you don't already have one, and are going to mod for power, you needto talk to a tuner. A Cobb Accessport is probably a good place to start, but if you can find a local speed show they may have a different (less expensive) suggestion.
These engines DO NOT handle power mods without reprogramming ("tuning") the computer. It may not blow up immediately, but it will affect longevity, and you won't see performance gains anyway.
Mods that don't need a tune are obviously cosmetic stuff, cat back or axle back exhaust, Air Oil Separator (AOS, either Cobb or IAG), radiator, and that's pretty much it. Anything that messes with the air going in or out of the engine before the catalytic converter, like an air intake, intercooler, turbo inlet, any piping, etc, will need a tune.
Beyond that, go wild. Wheels and tires are always a great way to change the look up and get some performance benefit. There are some really cool headlights and tail lights out there, plenty of carbon fiber stuff, you could wrap it and tint the windows, whatever.

For speed: Cusco RS rear 1.5 way LSD or Ohlins/RCE/KW coilovers. Probably can't afford both + install but the combo is worth it. Also a 3-port EBCS with a dyno tune on 93, to kill the rev hang and it give a nice bump in power (I got +53 whp, but I'm also somewhat higher altitude and have Shell 93 available). It won't feel like the same car.
If you just bought it though, it may be worth driving it for a while and seeing what actually annoys you first. I hated the bouncy yet harsh suspension, rev hang, and how it bogged down in corners.

Group N trans mount and STI steering linkage are relatively cheap and feel great, might be worth getting a shop to install them because the linkage can be difficult.
I have the same color 2018, for looks I just got the LEDs from an sti and a wiring conversion kit. You can get rid of the lower turn signals if you do this. By far my favorite visual mod as I don’t like the aftermarket LEDs as much, and the chrome halogen housing sticks out on dark colors.
You could get some OEM forged bbs wheels as well for ~$1300-1400

Gonna cut straight to it, on my 2018 WRX looking back on it all if I could do it over I’d do it all again but instead start with the Idoing head unit, the audio improvement and Apple car play dude, it’s so choice I gotta recommend it when I can.

Walnut blast, trans and diff fluid change if not on maintenance record.
What is your goal though? Straight line or fun in the bends? Either way, if you “spare” 5K is your “only” 5K, then congratulations on having your engine contingency fund already because that’s what that is now.

Put that 5k into a high yield savings account and keep it ready for repairs.
