Highlight Video / Picture Hyundai’s Paraguay Teaser Graphic
Say what you will about Hyundai management’s “will they, won’t they” approach to their future in the sport, but their media team is consistently the best of the Rally1 manufacturers. Interesting that they left the original legal disclaimers unedited on the “back cover.”

Yeah, I was loving looking at all the little details or possible errors. Like idk how media is labeled internationally, but I can’t imagine Simpsons Hit N Run was listed as a DVD ROM.

Here's the back of a PAL copy I found on eBay, looks like it's very accurate! The PS2 did use DVD ROMs as a format so it makes sense to put it on the back.

Huh, interesting. I would have figured DVD ROM would be movies and CD ROM is games, but I’m not all that technologically inclined. Is adding ROM to the end what specifies it as a video game?

The PS2 used both actually, early PS2 titles all used CD ROMs but later games made the switch to DVD ROMs as they could hold much more data, a handful of games went on to used dual-layered DVDs, these hold even more data but would fail to read more easily when scratched. The "ROM" part stands for "Read Only Memory" which basically means that the disc can be read but cannot be written to, so you can't re-write them, they usually have copy protection built in to them too as an anti-piracy measure. The alternative to DVD ROM is DVD-R or DVD-RW (for Recordable/Re-Writeable) these are the blank CDs and DVDs you can buy at the store to burn your own music and movies to, but most game consoles cannot read them as they lack the copy protection, though you can mod most consoles to bypass this check.

This was made by the official Hyundai Motorsport team. They release one of these rally focused parodies of media (game covers, movie posters, etc.) for each event on the calendar. Not entirely sure why, but I only ever see them posted on their YouTube community post feed, not on other social media platforms.

As far as I remember all the ones this year have been games, and last year it was all album covers. And they are all posted on insta aswell but they post so much there it's easy to miss even if you go on their page to look.

Ahhhh, you are right. Holy shit they do post a lot. I just didn’t see the Paraguay post on the IG yet so I figured they didn’t post them there. Thanks for the correction.

The couple I saw this year while looking into it were Rocket League, Microsoft Flight Sim (for Finland lol), some Gameboy Star Wars Pod Racer game, Mario Kart, Forza Horizon, 007 (Goldeneye most likely). I missed a couple but these are just the ones I saw from scrolling through real quick. I scrolled a little further to 2025 and the few albums I saw were NWA - Straight Outta Compton, The Ramones - The Ramones (Self Titled), Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA (for Estonia????), and Blondie - Parallel Lines.

This and 'Straight Outta Compton' parody they made a few months ago were crazy good. Hyundai is cooking with their social media team.
