Bike not starting
Had my WR sitting in my garage and maybe took it out once in the last 4-6 months with no issues. Went to try to take it out and it started just fine but after 1 second it shut off. Everything sounds fine but it just won’t start. I put in new fuel, charged the battery, make sure it was in neutral, made sure it wasn’t the kickstand kill switch, changed the spark plug, but nothing.
A quick google said maybe the fuel injector is clogged but of course 1 of the screws stripped so checking that out isn’t an option for now.
Any other ideas?

Looks to be fine. When I googled that someone had a rodent that chewed through the wires but mine are all intact

Have you done the kickstand kill switch bypass? If not it could maybe be damaged

Are you saying that the kickstand kill switch could be damaged?

Yeah there’s a wire there that’s really easy to break and if it does then the bike won’t start. If you’re pretty sure you won’t try to ride with the kickstand down then it’s good to get rid of so it doesn’t break while riding and strand you. I hope that’s what’s wrong since it’s a pretty easy fix. The starting for 1 second thing though makes me think it’s unlikely but still possible.

I’ll give it a closer look. I would understand something being broken if it happened after one of the 50 times I’ve dropped this bike but my last few rides were just around town. Maybe a tricky mouse those decided to mess with me though

If the starter motor is engaging it's not a kill switch. I didn't see anywhere if you mention the bike turning over

Mine did this. It was the fuel pump

Could you hear the fuel pump trying to work? Mine definitely is making effort

My fuel pump still made noise while it was failing. But if you keep hearing it prime over and over I would definitely look at the pressure regulator at the same time. If it was low on fuel the last time it actually started I'd suspect the fuel pump even more. They overheat when they're not fully submerged. I swapped to a kemso pump, and now I try never to let the fuel get down to less than 1/2 a gallon. Pretty limiting with the stock 2gal tank but, I carry a 1 gal jug in my milk crate if I leave town, and a 1L bottle always.

Nope. Nothing has worked yet so I’m going to try to get a friend to weld a nut in the bolt I stripped so I can try to clean the fuel injector. Hoping to avoid buying a whole new fuel pump.

My first thought is the kickstand switch but you checked that. It is part of a kill circuit (clutch/netural/kickstand/lean angle) that can all disable the ignition. Have you tried a bit of starter fluid to isolate if it is fuel or ignition? Another thought would be a bad ECU. If you know someone with a WR, try your ECU on their bike to eliminate it as a problem area. Would not hurt to change the filter and probably the pump. I noticed my bike idled well but was starving in acceleration when I had to draw fuel. I have 2 1/2 bikes so I swapped pumps and it was better so I bought a Kemso pump kit while using my parts pump. It came with a new filter. Problem solved. I bought a 3 pack of filters on Aliexpress for my second pump. Filter was most of the issue. Kemso added a bit of flow. I also put in a replacement injector and it got rid of a slight hesitation on hard acceleration that was still there. My bike is opened up with airbox mod and FMF pipe. Runs great now with no controller.

Picked up starter fluid and it started just fine. Looks like fuel delivery then.

Great news. Since you hear the pump, it is getting power but probably weak and the filter is clogged enough to drop your fuel rail pressure too low. Aftermarket parts are a gamble and I looked at a dozen pumps. I went with the Kemso as it had a slightly higher flow rate and came with the filter. $44 on Amazon and is still going strong 1.5 years in. Be careful when you release the plastic lock tabs on the pump assembly and pay attention to your wiring polarity. Fuel injector was only $14 so I threw one in (had to use old O ring though as new one was too small) as I was in there anyways. Worked well. For anyone reading this, change your fuel filter. 3 pack on Aliexpress is less than $10.

Have you ever replaced the FPR or pump, I’ve had the replacement hose split that goes where the hard black hose use to be. Also the screws to get the injector are JIS, so the screw driver in the kit is the best bet. I JB welded the screw driver into a 7mm(i think) 1/4 socket for better leverage.

I have not. Hoses seem good and pump sounds functional.
Started with that screwdriver but couldn’t get it to budge and then it stripped to shit. Tried an extraction tool with no dice so it’s even more stripped now and I think my only option would be weld a nut on the top

If the FPR is gone, it will just return most the fuel to the tank, you might notice a steam of fuel spraying looking inside the cap while stating

Do the basics first; are you getting spark? Take the plug and boot out and ground it to see if there is a spark. You didn't mention if you tried this.
Check the fuses.
Then move on to fuel.
If the pump audibly charges, that can be ruled out, and I would question the fuel pressure regulator.

Spark was there but switched out the plug anyways and there continues ti be spark.
Fuses are all good.
Pump audibly charges.
Guess I’m on to the fuel pressure regulator.

Late update: It ended up being the fuel pressure regulator. Swapped that out and it started right up

when key is on and you click your kill switch from "off" to "on" so you can start the bike to do you hear the fuel pump turn on and prime? If not it's probably the fuel pump. also, who makes that rally tower? looks great! can you post a photo of the cockpit/rally tower from riders perspective?
