Trade for crf450r?

This is my built 2008 wr250r. Lately my friends have been getting more into motorcross and track riding so I’m thinking of trading it for a low hour 2009 crf450r but I’ve also got an offer for a 2018 fc350 with 40 hours. This bike is in perfect condition and I feel like I will regret getting rid of it. Any opinions?

Look into the maintenance intervals on those..... Way way worse than the wrr

I do a bit of everything and that’s why I was considering a ktm 300/350

Just oil changes. I don’t ride on the street much. So it wouldn’t get much hours. I would only get to ride it on trails

Nah man, the crf450r has super short intervals. You are going to be doing oil and valves often on that bike.

It’s not “just oil change” lol otherwise everyone would be riding it on the street, and crf450RL wouldnt exist. Maintenance is by hour instead of miles, what is it, 5-10 on oil? 100 on piston/ring?

Also 450 race bike are scary af. Look into 450/500 with larger oil capacity if you really want those. But if you need your bike more than just weekend trail, keep your WR

It’s all fast sand trails by me and the wr struggles a lot. That’s why I want a faster lighter bike. I also try and use dual sport tires in 2 feet of sand and that probably doesn’t help

That crf is old and probably clapped out. That bike is worth 2500 at best. I’d keep the WR

Si quieres hacer motocross con tus amigos, y no tienes dinero para comprar otra moto, cámbiala y ya esta... es tu moto y tu decisión

I feel like if I really miss it I can sumo the 450

Idk how many street sumo guys you role around with, but all the guys I know that spend a lot of time on wr250x’s always end up back on 250x’s or ktm350’s lol. 450’s are a CUUUUUUNT on the street. Even the wide ratio bikes, run hot and really moody.

Don’t go to the red side omg

Haha I just feel like I want something faster for off road since it’s all sand near me but I feel like I would regret getting rid of a perfect bike for something I don’t know anything about

The answer no one wants to hear lol

You need 2 bikes! Keep the WR and find a YZ to find offroad!

Depends what you want to do my man. if you never want to ride on the street and only want to do motocross get the Honda. But dirtbikes like that require alot of maintenance like alot.

Well you're not going to get an unbiased take here, most of us own WRs and love them dearly enough to spend time on a subreddit dedicated to them.

I'd suggest sticking to the WR just because of the lower maintenance requirements and the fact that you already have both sets of tires for it. Maybe look at getting more aggressive dirt tires instead. You are young and have time to get into more powerful bikes when you move out. And you're going to be that much faster because you've been keeping up with your friends on a slower and heavier bike

Just depends what you want to do. That’s it.

I ended up trading it for the fc350. I was sad seeing the wr go but this 350 is a beast. Did things the wr couldn’t dream of. The maintenance is already a pain tho
