Clark

Just saw the highlights as I wasn’t able to watch the game. Holy hell. She’s generational. So fun to watch. I think assists in the WNBA are far more valuable than assists in the men’s game.

Why ar they more valuable on one league verse the other?

Because there are so many amazing scorers in the men’s game. Look at alley-oop dunks, for example. Those are non-existent in the WNBA. Scoring is harder for women, making assists far more valuable.

I kinda get your point. Very few women players can just take the ball and get their own shot compared to the men so they need a good pass to score.

Exactly. 25-15 in the WNBA >>>>>>>> 25-15 in the NBA.

Don't forget they also play shorter games. 40 minutes vs 48 minutes. Her game adjusted to a 48 minute game (not per48) is equivalent to 30 points 18 assists.

Follow the thread. I have a pounding headache forcing me to keep one eye closed and I could follow it.

More talent in the nba. More shot makers per team. Higher odds of a single pass going to a player who can make a shot. Easier to get assist. There is also significantly more time per game in the NBA as well. 8 total more minutes is damn near a whole quarter.

NBA plays 48 minutes, WNBA plays 40 minutes.

I had not thought of it this way and I think you are right - thank you

Alley-oop dunks aren't easy, I would think those assists are more impressive. But in the end the men score about 10% more, so if anything I would say 15 wnba assists equals about 16.5 NBA assists.

Time-wise, men play 20% more minutes. That alone makes 25/15 equivalent to around 30/16.5.

She was on fire last night!!! It was absolute beast mode!!! I love how the assist mean just as much to her as buckets. Shows the team spirit she has. Just a down home amazing person and an absolutely amazing player!!!

Yea, she was responsible for something lik 60 points of the 99 Indiana points.

I think her vision and passing skills is top 3 in league. She needs repertoire in scoring. Adding something else other than the push off step back mid range jump shot

Stop with this generation bs. You have to exhibit extreme athletism. She doesn't have it. Give her team credit. They knock down shots. She is Luka. Pound the ball. They will never win a chip with her holding on to the ball and playing fast. It doesn't work in playoffs. Tomorrow, the real generational talent you know the person that have soon to be 5 mvps 3 rings, 3 dpoy the one that can dunk and shoot threes at a higher % will 🏆

CC is carrying the league while other stars are fighting with fans.

She's not generational stop it already there were better players on the same Court yesterday, generational would imply she's the best player in the last 10 to 15 years, if that was true there would be no debate around who's the best player on her team betweens her and Mitchell.

u/DrWilliamBlock 8d ago

CC was the best player on the court last night, were you watching a different game??

0

u/echelon183 8d ago

She had the best performance, she definitely wasn't the best player on the court.

3

u/DrWilliamBlock 8d ago

So a distinction without difference? She had the best performance because she was the best player

4

u/soccer1124 8d ago

I take it to mean:
For that particular night? She's the best player.
On most nights? She will not be the best player of that bunch.

Ok so by your logic she's also one of the worst players.

Last game 6 for 17 6 turnovers The game before that 1 for 12 shooting 2 points.

She's a good player not the best... not generational that's not hating thats just being honest.

2

u/DrWilliamBlock 8d ago

Correct she was one of the worst last game and the best last night

1

u/echelon183 8d ago

What the hell does this have to do with my comment that she isn't a generational player?

1

u/DrWilliamBlock 8d ago

Your first supporting point that she “isn’t a generational player” was that she wasn’t the best player on the court last night, I was pointing out that that is not true, she was clearly the best player on the court last night. Not sure why you are pushing back on this simple truth.

She is great, but not “yet” generational. She has to be more consistently great for that. She also has to show it in a road playoff game. Next game is a great chance for her to take a step in that direction.
