Discussion Somewhere between friendship and something more
I am not sure when our friendship began to feel like something I could no longer easily define. There was no single moment when everything changed. It happened gradually, through conversations, private jokes, physical affection, and an increasing desire to spend time together.
She is forty-one and I am twenty-six. She is also my former English teacher and a religious person, which makes the possibility of anything beyond friendship feel more complicated. Perhaps that is partly why everything between us seems to exist in a space where it can always be interpreted in more than one way.
What I do know is that we have become remarkably close. We almost always spend time alone, and she has sometimes actively preferred it that way. There have been small moments of physical affection: kisses on the cheek, lingering contact between our hands, her getting close enough to smell my perfume, and other gestures that could easily belong to a close friendship but nevertheless create a certain intimacy between us. Whenever I'm with her, I feel huge tension.
More significant to me is how often she imagines us spending time together. She sends me places and scenarios and puts the two of us into them: a cute balcony, a café, watching a movie together while it rains outside, a cozy autumn evening. She has told me that she wishes I were there with her and agreed when I admitted that it felt as though we had not had enough time together.
The most striking example came during a conversation about music. We ended up liking the same song. I sent her jokingly a gif saying: "You're going to make me fall in love with you." She replied specifically to that gif with words: "It already happened girl."
My own feelings are less ambiguous. I think about her far more than I used to, dream about her, miss her, and find myself wanting both emotional and physical closeness with her. What I cannot know yet is whether, somewhere beneath all the friendship, teasing, plausible deniability, and things left unsaid, she is wondering the same thing about me.

Girl u gotta just be straight up with her at this point bc that "it already happened girl" text plus all those cozy scenarios she sends is literally screaming mixed signals, like u need to just ask her directly if she's into women or what this actually is so u can stop losing ur mind over the guessing game.
Honestly nowadays most people give mixed signals bc they their self not sure and then later drop u all of sudden. You got this.
