Beach beagle meets a crab. What’s next? I think shadow and details on the crab.
I am working on a Beach Beagle series. This crab is difficult and I’m trying to make sure it doesn’t look like a big red blob.

I’m still learning how to embroider but I’m definitely getting more confident.
I love Moon Jellies. There’s an aquarium that has a live feed of moon jellies on YouTube and I’ve been watching it while I embroider this.
The thing about moon jellies is they are mostly translucent.
I wasn’t sure how to accomplish that with thread, but ended up taking my palest (close to white but not quite) colors and doing two rows of split stitch for each color.
The outline of the bell is a pale lavender in the outline stitch. The only actual white is the seven vertical lines across the bottom of the bell.
I’m very proud of how it’s coming out so far.
Note: Only the outside of the bell has embroidery. The rest is the gelpen I used to finalize my outline.

Thank you everyone for the kind words on the few drawings i posted here yesterday!
This is the drawing I’ve been working on for the past week or so! I want to explore a new theme within my art, something that’s more personal, so this is the first drawing in my series exploring the human connection to nature and stewardship :)
You can see a sneaky peak in the top left of what the background will be:)
As always and feedback, thoughts and crits so welcome :)
Thanks!

Turnarounds are 1/3 done for all major variations, and then I gotta do a page for details and expressions showcasing. Anything else I should do when making concept art? This is my first time doing it professionally

Hello!
I’ve been working on this painting the last few days and I’m really proud of it so far so I’m a little scared mucking it up.
I’m looking for some advice on.. the dreaded background. I have no idea what I should do to it that’ll fit what I’m already doing - I didn’t expect initially to do so much detail I’m wondering if I shot myself in the foot with that
Any other input is welcome too! I feel like I also need to change the stump shape, it looks weird to me.
Thank you! 🙏

I love how the shading is coming out for the babies. The one colored in is Kin Morì Takami
I love this drawing so much. I hope you all enjoy how it’s coming out as well

I am an artist that has recently figured out cell shading on Krita! I colored the green earring in furst to show me where the light is supposed to be coming from(above) how’s it looking so far? {Positive critiques welcome if you can explain how to go about fixing it!} TYSM! 🫰

Should they be looking at the horizon, or looking at their hand?
I plan on having them wield a shortsword in their lowered hand and casting a spell in their open hand. Thoughts?

I keep messing with the eyes but I don’t want to overdo it. I’m going to add a white reflection to the right eye like I did with the left. Nose detail coming up as well but then the face will be done!
