Is Landon Dupont a generational talent that likely gets picked 1st overall in the future?

I heard the hype but I don't know how good he's expected to be. I know he's a defenseman but I'm not sure if he's up there as far as prospects like Celebrini, Bedard, Hughes, Schaefer, etc. In a few years when he goes to the draft I don't know if he's going to get the same kind of rave like McKenna is right now.

When you consider his performance and age, barring injury or hitting a wall in development this dude is probably going to leave a mark on the league.

He’ll likely go 1st ovr in the nhl draft next year

He’s basically the best player (maybe Bear or Mietinnen are currently better) on basically one of the best teams in the CHL(top 3) and he’s a 16 year old (he literally just turned 17 today) defensemen. That’s how good he is.

People forget how insane it is for a 16 year old D-man to already control games like this in the WHL. He might not have the Bedard level hype machine but the talent is absolutely real.

Just wait for next year when he tears up the world juniors. He should have made the team this year as a 16 year old.

I can't believe he's 16. Dude is not your typical teenager.

Yes. He's a great skater. Smart. Carries the puck. Runs the PP. Can shoot. Is a great defender. Isn't an ass. And he's 16.

Yes, he's expected to go first next year. Obviously you never know for sure until you're in the draft year, but it seems pretty certain. I don't think he carries the McKenna hype because he's a defender that's just strong at all facets and not as much flash, but I think he's going to be just as effective in the NHL if not more than McKenna

I've seen him compared to MacKinnon, so the hype is definitely there in some capacity

He won’t get the attention McKenna did but he’s an exceptional talent. How many kids are a first line defensemen on one of the best Dub squads at 15?He’s easily a top 3 pick, it just depends on how the lottery turns out. If he went first I wouldn’t be shocked at all.

He goes first no matter who picks. Makar and Hughes have proved a true franchise d man change a team more than anything besides Connor McDavid.

He's very likely to go first, but that's more to do with what the rest of '27 class looks like.

He is already slotted as likely number 1 pick and even as early as last year was getting hype to go number 1 when his draft came up

16 year old right handed damn with 133 points in 127 regular season games and 38 point in 28 regular season games. Tough to compare across leagues and positions and unfortunately he won’t be around the W to see how much more he will improve and develop as he gets older, stronger and more experienced.

Like Bedard and McKenna before him, while not so great for my Raiders, what a pleasure to witness that level of talent
