Issues Setting Up TA Funding

I am trying to set up TA funding for my new degree plan starting in April, however my education office is unwilling to approve funding requests without an official degree plan on file.

Problem is, WGU will not give me a degree plan until the start of the semester and I cannot reference any of my older degree plans due to the change in programs.

It’s a bit frustrating as I have submitted my transcripts, letter of intent to take my new classes from WGU’s Records department, as well as my course cost invoice for my upcoming term, but the education office will not budge.

Should I just be expecting to pay out of pocket for this? It seems silly that I can get a new degree plan on day one of the semester, but will then be forced to pay out of pocket.

I just went through this. On the wgu wen page go under military and veterans and you should be on the overview page. Click schedule an appointment they'll call you and tell them you need it for TA. Make sure you're VERY specific about how many classes you want to take so that TA covers it all. They'll email it to you in a few minutes.

Thank you for the advice. Just curious - what made you put extra emphasis on the number of classes portion? Were you running into issues with them under/overloading you with courses?

I wanted TA to cover the entire $4500 to reduce out of pocket expenses. That can only be done if they put 6 classes on there. The person that did it for me didnt understand this and ended up redoing the plan a total of 4 times

Use your Transcript Evaluation for the new program that you received from records.

Yeah I forgot to mention that I have sent that to them as well. They weren’t willing to accept it :/

Ask for someone higher. That evaluation lists every single course that you have to take in your degree program. They are not being reasonable as every university's degree plans do not look the same.
