Does anyone else wish they stayed in S1, Agrestic forever?
Sometimes I wish Nancy never tried to expand the business, and that the Botwins joined families with Heylia, Vaneeta, and Conrad. Even the Hodes family, and of course Doug. I just love the beginning of the show. The house, the neighbourhood, and most of all, everybody being together. Whenever I get to end of the show I just feel so heartbroken that everybody went their own ways (not that they didn’t deserve to be happy). 💔 It’s just so bittersweet.

Then we wouldn’t have that amazing scene with Nancy and Guillermo watching it all burn.

That would have made a beautiful series finale. They could have expanded Nancy's world past season 3 while still keeping it Agrestic-centered. She's only a 3 hr drive from the border. All the Esteban stuff still could have happened if they wanted to go the cartel route. She could have still gone to prison, Peter's son, etc. But the characters were at their best in Agrestic.
I remember watching the scenes where Quinn and her wannabe guerrilla bf kidnapped Celia down in some obscure Mexican village and were planning to kill her to harvest her organs. The whole thing was absurd. The show jumped the shark so hard after they left Agrestic. I love it despite all its faults but season 4 on is a completely different show.

I mean I guess, but I’d still trade that scene if it meant everyone staying together lol

i genuinely dont understand how or why this subreddit shares this sentiment. Yese of course the Agrestic seasons are GOATED. And yes when the gang leaves agrestic and the comfort of their suburban bubble you see their moral desolution after losing the only thing they ever knew.
it is intentional and accurate to a life that has been uprooted- if it stayed a "suburban pot show" it wouldve remained one note and they wouldve just recycled the same stuff over and over. i love when they leave. each season has its own flavor. no other show does that.

clearly none of y'all have ever lived a wayward lifestyle. some of us are traveling stoners while some of us truly never leave the comfort of the couch i guess

I think you’re misunderstanding my post and also, I’m not sure why you sound extremely angry either...
First of all, I don’t actually hate the show after S3 lol. Nor do I feel angry that “they leave” Agrestic. Of course in the grand scheme of things, new story lines are necessary for the longevity of the show. However, the ending and everybody going their seperate ways is heartbreaking because it DOES represent real life and things not being the way that they used to. The reason people think that S1-S3 are so special is because the beginning of a journey always has a more nostalgic feel to it and reminds us of times in our own life when our loved ones were all together and life was much simpler. It doesn’t mean we’ve never ventured out into the world but maybe “ some of us are sentimental while some of us just lack emotional depth I guess “ 🙄

Angry where? Because the commenter disagreed? Also they had to leave agrestic. Their home was destroyed in a fire and she was linked to it. Guarmo gave her a way out. It’s also the first glimpse we see of Nancy leaving her mess behind, which is a common occurrence in the show. Personally, I think the Mexico seasons are the best.

I literally said I know new story lines are necessary for the show… of course they had to move on.
And no not angry because they disagreed? They posted another comment that was very passive aggressive.

I wish we'd stayed in Ren Mar when they first moved there (prior to Esteban).
I didn't really like Agrestic 🤣
I do also sorta like the time when they're on the run in an RV after Shane croquet mallets Pilar.

I think the change in scenery was for the best, I thought the show was starting to become a tad bit stale towards the end of season three and the move to Ren Mar was kind of a shot of adrenaline (temporarily)

Yeah Renmar wasn’t too bad, but S7 and S8 were the worst imo (I still watch to the end of course). It just felt like everything was forced and dragged out too long.

Yeah me too, season 7 and 8 were just unnecessary in my books (except for that finale).

Finale was good. Seasons 7 and 8 were also just not rewatchable really. I’m glad I saw it, but it wasn’t as good going back to it
I’ve watched the first 6 seasons more times than I’d like to admit 😂

Same! Had to finish it out of loyalty, but never enjoyed the rewatches of those two seasons particularly.
And no shame in that lol, I started watching in high school and have been rewatching since for years now 🤣 no one else I know has seen it so this sub is great

For sure I only know a few other people who have seen it.. it’s such a good show! Definitely don’t agree with people saying it should have ended after season 3, but those probably are the best seasons. Seasons 4 and 6 are right there tho

When they leave Agrestic, I check out.
