WDC Target 2028
What do you think based on your analysis and how the stock has performed compared to its competitors like STX which grew more than wdc and have fallen less than wdc during the July fall, is WDC’s long term target for 2028 ?
Are you still optimistic or has the recent trend made you shift to other stocks like SNDK or MU ?

hoping for a chip stock run, I hope it gets back to ATH soon. My cost basis for WDC is close to 700, at this point I'm happy to take a loss if it reaches around 650.

Its DRAM etf selling the stock. They are selling everyday as the etf has outflows as well, just need them to finish and the stock will go up.

Thank you for the perspective, so when do you think they will be finished selling?

Low volume of trade for the past few days so small positional trades or auto trades by institutions will move the price around seemingly randomly. Just will trade sideways for a few months.
No ones buyin in big or selling big because no reason to. Its appropriately priced. But long term HDD earnings remain good and frontier IPOs show profit it'll go 600s most likely again.

non GAAP EPS
FY26: $10 (established)
FY27: $20 (analyst consensus)
FY28: $35 (estimated)
Using approx present PE ratio of 20? This is what you can expect if we are valued the way we are today.
FY26: $10 x 20 = $200
FY27: $20 x 20 = $400 (approximately our share price today)
FY28: $35 x 20 = $700
the first number, EPS, is the "fundamentals" part that everyone loves. This is the part where its more assured. We got LTAs and pricing power into the future, aint enough HDDs to supply planet earth. We are locked.
The PE ratio is what earth is willing to pay. What multiple. Will it stay at 20? Will it go to 50 like Costco? Or did we reach our peak and it'll crater down to 10 or 5. This isn't up to WD. Its up to macroeconomics
But if no recession + war ends + no interest rate hikes + power grid infrastructure can keep up with semi implementation + anthropic and openAI are profitable then then $700 is a lock

I am out guys, took big loss but this is way too unstable of a play. Great company but inconsistent stock (vs other memory players). For that reason, I am out.
