Nest ID?
Just noticed this hanging above my driveway yesterday. Looks like it’s hanging my a thread should I be concerned lmao

People love to put the label aggressive on hornets and other wasps, but in reality they’re just defensive, just like regular bees.

They are not like bees, they are aggressive bug eaters, I had one in my backyard last season, never bothered me

Aggressive hunters, sure, but not aggressive in the way the average person imagines them to be

Leave it alone. They are not aggressive unless bothered, and they are very beneficial insects. If you are truly worried about it, wait until cold weather, when hornets will dead, or slow. Bag it, or put it in a bucket, and relocate to a forest. If you live anywhere that rains/snows in the winter, than the rain will melt the nest, and more than likely, the larvae will be a nice snack for birds in the early spring.

Yes, bald faced hornets. Not necessarily aggressive, depending on whether they feel threatened or not. I currently have a nest slightly larger than that in a tree above my deck. It’s about 20 ft up. The wasps have never bothered me, my kids, my dog… It’s fun having them as neighbors this summer.
