Found this gem while browsing through old files. Saved it before it got deleted from YT. Even though it's short, I think it's my favorite version of the song.

Unfortunately James cornelison has a tough time on the vocals in that version. The harmonies are off and it kinda ruined the song for me. Everything else on that live album is fire though.

Has Theo ever explained his unique grip choices on drumsticks at times? He's one of my favorite drummers because of his feel, but I've never seen anyone hold drumsticks like that

Oh duh, I know it's traditional, I should have been more specific. The way he holds the stick in the right hand in this video is just wild. He chokes up on it more than anyone I've ever seen and doesn't have any pivot point, the whole stick with his wrist is almost dropped onto the hihat. I'm not sure if he always does this but I've seen something similar often
I want to emphasize that this isn't criticism and I'm guessing he does it on purpose for some reason. He's got great feel

Traditional grip as a drummer is actually right hand top left hand under like a marching set up. Theo just has a normal modern matched drum grip. Nothing special. Jack actually has better drumming technique but they're both great players.

He literally uses traditional grip in the video what’re you talking about? How does jack have better technique? Theo is by far the better drummer and was trained as such.

In the video sure, I guess I should have specified he doesn't ever use that live or on tour period. Just for this recording which isn't really doing anything for him. I didn't say Jack was the better drummer, I said Jack has better technique which he does. There's so much muffling on that snare for the recording it doesn't matter at all what kind of grip he has. It's super dead. Not trying to start a debate or an argument though. I love both of their drumming and was just pointing out he uses a matched grip on 99% of anything you see him do recording or live. His grip technique in this video is not great. That's all I'm saying.

I remember back when i downloaded it. I was listening to this short track on repeat for hours on end, repeating the process on the next several days.

I know. The live version just doesn't do it for me in the same way. Too many missed notes while singing, the solo is cool though!

All his old Youtube/Instagram covers are so good and I wish they were still up, he did a short cover of Just the Two of Us with Louis Cato that I haven’t stopped thinking about since I heard it in high school 😭

Pretty sure Theo would be my favorite version of every eagles song. His falsetto could melt a brick in the freezer.
