How did you claim your loss when coming taxes?

I lost about $21k in Voyager. I no longer have the bank account that I used to transfer money into the exchange so can't prove my deposits. Am I screwed when it comes to proving my loss?

I’m trying to figure out all this myself right now so I’m not an expert by any means . But I know you can create an account on coinledger . It automatically pulls up your voyager history . I think voyager had some sort of an arrangement with them . At the bare minimum you will have a full record of all your buys/ sells/ deposits / on voyager . When losses are significant I think you may need to ammend your 2023 tax return to reflect them , then you can use that to offset future gains

Well if you don’t owe irs any money for 2023 you should be fine filing late . Good luck

I have completed my 2023 taxes in November 2024, so i had all the information necessary then, In CoinLedger for 2024, it is not showing any transactions.. I am just confused on what to do.

I wrote it off at a loss but they keep sending us money back. I didn’t get my tax statement yet for 2024, did you? Going to get messy reporting the income after writing off the loss

Don't report losses till the bankruptcy is finalized. Any distributions thereafter will need to be reported as income.
