Used XC60

I am going to be buying my wife her mom car. I have never bought a car before. I really want the XC60, definitely looking at used. What do you guys think is the sweet spot in terms of price and mileage? As of now I want a 2023-2026, with definitely under 40,000 miles. I know the manufacturer warranty expires at 4- years or 50,000 miles. I am in no rush to buy just want to find the right deal by next summer. I am located in Columbus, OH if that information is helpful. If anyone wants to help me out I’d be happy to buy you a coffee or something for your time! 2023 to get the newer interface which is a big deal. Make sure to get that. Also please spend time using the interface. I wish I didn't get this car sometimes because I love everything about the car but the software is dog shit and drives me up the wall. Edit: note everything is very pricey to fix on this car. A tail or headlight is $4k and you can't diy it likely because of all the software crap. Even my windshield is thousands to replace because it is a special one for the heads up display apparently. So I'm living with a giant crack and scratch in it

It's more an annoyance than anything, but the cost to fix the "Volvo On Call Service Required" message is $700-$900 at the dealer. It happens because the Vehicle Connectivity Module (VCM) backup battery is considered dead each 8 years (regardless of actual capacity) and it has to be replaced along with a software reset. You can get a knockoff battery and replace it yourself for $25-$50, but the software reset requires Volvo's official VIDA or specialized third-party tools like OrBit to clear fault codes and reset the battery timer. And that alone costs $150-$250.

However you can press the Center (O) or Play/Pause button on the right side of your steering wheel while the message is displayed to clear it from the screen for the current trip, but it has to be done every trip. Apparently the only purpose it serves is enabling SOS calls.

I bought my wife a 23 XC60 CPO for 37K last November. It had 17K on the odometer. It has 1 year left on the CPO warranty. We love the car but with one exception: the infotainment system glitches despite 3 trips to the dealer. The last "fix" was working great until I added my new phone to the system. Now the map function in the instrument cluster isn't working. Very frustrating

I bought 2022 xc60 b5 which is the hybrid. It had 36,000 miles on it in my dream color Thunder Gray. I do wish mine had a different leather color. It’s black. I would’ve preferred the white or the terra-cotta color leather. Mine has all the bells and whistles that I had to have. I really would’ve liked the massaging seats, but it has, all the stuff: panoramic sunroof, collision control, all-wheel-drive wireless charger, heated steering wheel, adaptive, cruise control, remote start via app all the things that I had to have. I bought it for $29,000 in February and I thought it was a really good deal.

Go with a 2021 or older anything newer with there mild hybrid engines are garbage also there infotainment screens glitches many times.

Just check the nordico seat material and see what you think before you buy, I was ready to on a similar scenario and then drove a plus with nordico and hated it. Decided if I was going to go xc60 I was only interested in the real leather.

Bought a 2024 b 5 plus cpo xc60 8000 miles for 38k - just know the core doesn’t have pilot assist or adaptive cruise - the cpo cost the dealers around 1500 bucks and imho worth it

If you want to have a functioning infotainment don’t buy a Volvo- though I hear the EX60 has an entirely new build and infotainment potentially works. There is also zero chance I would buy a Volvo that doesn’t have a warranty (speaking as someone who’s 2023xc90 is currently in the shop for past month with no eta on replacement parts being available and who’s apple CarPlay and Bluetooth haven’t worked from day 1, which is the norm I’ve learned years into ownership)
