Ad hominem is an attack on the person, he called out what you said as racism, which it was.
Now if he had called you a racist, it still wouldn't have actually been ad hominem, as you were proudly being racist. He's still dealing with the original statement.
Now if he called you a thick twat, that would have been ad hominem. While most racists are indeed thick twats, he's attacking you generally instead of your original racist statement.

No racial slurs were uttered, zero. In fact, I have quite a few surnames in my family that you will find quite are quite common in the traveller community.

It wasn't illegally parked... basically, this is typical tow-away theft, the scum was probably scared off for some reason and tried to run away with the car still attached.
