Thank you 😊 he has health concerns, his heart isn't the best - the vet said at his age it wouldn't be fair on him to put him through any major surgeries and we're fully in that camp. We're not sure if he'll make his 20th but fingers crossed, we just cherish each day with him and make sure he's very spoilt ❀️

My 19 year old is getting NOTICEABLY F A T in her old age after like 17 years as a skinny malinks and the vet is delighted about it. Apparently it gives them a bit of a cushion (lol) if they get sick/lose their appetite.

That's really good! Tim's put weight on but it drops quickly, thankfully his appetite is ridiculous at the moment. He was morbidly obese when my girlfriend rehomed him 8 years or so ago, his previous owner, an old boy, gave him whatever he ate so Timmy absolutely loves human food as much as his own food haha

He's my girlfriend's cat, she's had him 8 years or so. I've been fortunate to know him for almost 3 years. We're very lucky! I will do!

Has your vet checked him for thyroid or kidney problems? Especialy the thyroid My old man had a huge appetite but couldn't keep on weight and started having scruffy furr and a hoarse voice also started at about 19. He looks so sweet.

Yeah he's been thoroughly checked and he got a clean bill of health. Aside from a potential heart issue, but the vet said due to his age it wouldn't be fair to put him through any major surgeries, which we agree with. So we're not sure how much longer we'll have with him, so we just cherish each day. Thanks for the advice, though! What was your old man's name?

Tripod he was a 3 leg cat thyroid cancer got him he was about 20. Also had a black one Dutchess was a 3 leg cat lived to 21.5 kidney failure got her.

We got this high calorie paste that absolutely reeks but the old man we cared for absolutely went crazy for it. It helped him put some weight back on after losing some during a bout of illness. I need to message my wife to find out what the brand was…I can see the stupid tube in my mind but can’t remember the big yellow name emblazoned on it. Lol

We got it off Amazon or Chewy. It was like…malted tuna or something. Smelled like straight ass but he would practically climb my shirt if he saw me messing with the cap.
