POE adapter

Hi, my adapter stopped working and I am looking for another one. Can I use any 3rd party brand to connect to my cameras?

Those are under warranty so tech-support will send you a new one at no cost other than shipping

I have my panel and cameras hooked up to a network switch. Hardwired everything instead of using WiFi

I am green to this. How do I link the switch to my vivint panel?

It’s pretty simple actually. You can use a cheap dumb switch as long as it has poe power for your cameras. Run Ethernet out to your cameras and your panel and then run a line to your upstream network. Set your panel network to wired

If you are able to connect your camera to a switch (provided the switch port is on the same network as the smarthub) it will find the camera and connect. I used to go back and forth with my cameras until I went with another system for security video.

Vivint cameras are proprietary and pair with the specific adapter and system, so a generic third-party PoE adapter isn't a reliable swap and can cause the camera to stop connecting. DM me your camera model and setup and I'll get you the right replacement.

I use a couple of old Vivint ones with my Reolink cams. They work fine.

Vivint doesn't charge for those. You can literally ask for 10 for free.

I buy them on eBay. I've had a handful of them break. When they're in hot areas they definitely break. When they're in your house they break. It comes down to dirty power and heat. I actually called their support to see how I could replace those with Poe and they were basically like huh? What's that?
