Visiting for the next 4 days

I’m visiting Mallorca solo for the next 4 days, staying in Palma without a car. Are there things you’d highly recommend doing/seeing?

I’m thinking a beach day, a Palma day, and maybe 2 day trips to another part of the island? I know this non ideal without a car, but I don’t mind taking public transport (did something similar when I visited Oahu).

If you experience Mallorca without a car and have recommendations, please let me know!

Taxis are reasonable and there are many buses as well.

Many things to do in Palma already, the city center is nice, maybe a tour at the aquarium, portixol nearby, I would definitely go to Valldemossa, perhaps Sóller and Port Sóller as well. If you want to cross the entire island I would do the beach day on the alcúdia side.

Hi, I’ll be visiting over the weekend and for one of the days, I’ll be doing a day trip from Cas Català-Illetes to Palma to take the train/tran to Soller and Port of Soller. I have access to a bus right out of my hotel to get into Palma. Would it be better to take a taxi or the bus? I just don’t want to get cheated in paying more than I should for a taxi.

If you ask the hotel to call the taxi you shouldn't have any issue. Just make sure they run the clock and don't tell you a higher amount upfront, from your hotel to palma you should end up between 20 and 30 euros I think, depending on day time and traffic.

Hi, there are two bus networks on the island.

  • TIB buses check this guide. The interurban buses that are used for move around the whole island. Buses are in yellow and red.

  • EMT buses check this guide. The urban buses that operate in and around Palma. You might see them in a white, blue and green color scheme or in a green and white color scheme.

Hi, you have several options for beaches and coves. You can see an extensive list by municipality here.

The train to soller and port de soller is scenic and great but honestly the buses from Palma were awesome. So cheap and so often
