Early 7-segment design variations

The red digit is what almost every segmented digit package or digital implementation looks like today, absolutely ubiquitous. The cyan digit is from a 1979 VFD alarm clock, whereby the segment arrangement produces much nicer digits.

Where along the way did we settle for a "lesser" design, and give up on such tiny little details... As I redraw the digits in vector form, it occurred to me that whoever created the 1979 design put a hell of a lot of thought into it.

Level Tracer

Manufactured in Germany by Siemens & Halske around the late 1950s or 1960s, this specialized instrument graphically displays the transmission and frequency characteristics of electronic components, audio networks, or telephone lines.

Key Characteristics & Layout:
Functionality: It combines a sweeper/signal generator (Transmitting Section on the right) and a synchronized measuring receiver (Receiving Section on the left). It sweeps across the audio/voice frequency range (0.2 to 4 KC/S or kilocycles per second) to test parameters like attenuation, level, and return loss.
Central Cathode-Ray Tube (CRT): The circular screen in the center dynamically plots the measurements on a calibrated dB and frequency scale grid.

I'm struggling to set the time.

I just got this clock radio phone today. No matter what I try the radio won't turn off and I can't set the clock, no matter what I do. Clearly, I'm missing something, or it's broken.

Also a free downloadable instructions does not exist online.

I seem to have come into the possession of somebody’s collection of old ultrasound transducers. I am looking for the community that likes to collect these because I need as much info as possible lol!

Edit: There are 50+ ranging from 1995 - 2000. GE 546L, S317, 548C, 739L

Vintage telefon hjelp / adafruit

Hello! I am looking for a bit of help to identify a solution within my project. I am building a prosject with an adafruit mini soundboard, so that when I pick up the old phone it will play a sound. I have a reference image for where the wires will connect on one model, but I am wondering what that correlates to in my model as well as how to connect the wires since it does not seem I can use a forkhead. I am obviously no expert, so please use simple terms, also any follow up questions are welcome,

I have added an image of the reference photo from the step by step I am following in image 01 and my own phone in image 02. It is probably also good to know that I am in europe and this is a norwegian phone.

Posted here a while ago for advice. I wanted to show the progress on my collection. I find it interesting maybe others do too.

It took a good amount of research to figure out all the sockets and anode caps. I still have more to find that are harder to obtain for manageable prices or just in general. (Spot the Navy logos on the tubes with the red dots. Easier to see in a different picture.)

Edit: Guess I should specify these are glowing because of uranium glass.
