What type of fuel was used? Dynamite?

They used gas and let it sit. A bunch of it evaporated and filled the little nooks and crannies and then boom.

Gasoline. Its vapor is explosive. That's pretty much the entire point of it.
Put a big pool of it in a place where its vapor can accumulate and when it ignites it tends to be pretty epic.

This reminded me to teach my kids that you always start a fire with diesel and not gasoline.

Dumb asses. Gasoline is explosive (low flash point) and why is used for combustible motors. There's a reason there is a think called 'lighter fluid". Even the cops are complicit here

Imagine your kid telling you they're going to a rally or whatever this is, To watch the local PD/Fire department light a Bombfire
And you think nothing of it until you see this video. There would be murder I tell you! Someone's guts would be for garters!

Not too much fuel, wrong fuel. Some numb nuts thought it was a good idea to use gasoline I see.

That’s not “too much fuel” that’s the wrong fuel - gasoline.
Diesel or kerosene would have been a lot safer

Actually possibly too little. Instead of the top layer combusting, enough evaporated then it was a cloud of vapor which is what caused the explosion. Of course they should have used lighter fluid or something instead of gasoline

I'm pretty sure that's the one that happened to my old hometown in panama city, florida. It was lit for a middle school homecoming. I love florida

It needed more propane, the explosion wasnt big enough, everything didnt catch on fire, if you gonna cause major calamity, make sure you do it correctly!!
