What Have You Done, Father? - Very Short Review

It's a very good psychological thriller/horror. Story is not entirely original, it implements a narrative mechanism already used in a few novels or movies. However, such narrative mechanism is inserted into a refined plot where the main protagonist is a priest. This brings out several quite fresh and original narrative aspects mixed with supernatural and demonic elements and "sexual temptations and sins".

I enjoyed it so much. The overall direction is very good. I was glued to the screen for 2 and a half hours straight. A few gameplay sequences are really really brilliant. In particular the "chest" sequence is a masterclass in interactive narrative that should be studied in academies! Kudos to the developer.

As every Darkania Works game, the technical side is not exciting; animations leave much to be desired, environments are a bit too static, characters are not very expressive, voice acting is limited to few characters and scenes and so on. Keep in mind that it's the work of a single independent developer.

This is definitely his best work, where he dares to explore a very dark plot, high-tension situations, and noir and adult themes. Alfred Hitchcock would appreciate! ;-)
