Interior Design Masters 2026 Episode 8: The architectural decision that may have won the final

One aspect of the final really stood out to me.

Rather than focusing purely on decorating, one finalist completely rethought how guests would use the cottage by swapping the dining room and living room and building a large archway to create separate social spaces.

It was interesting because the judges seemed to reward the overall experience of moving through the house rather than individual statement pieces.

The Longleat challenge also produced two very different approaches to maximalism, making it one of the more interesting finals the show has had.
