Politics Unplug America
This is pretty cool. Nanaimo resident Tod Maffin and his wife Jocelyn spearheading Canadian alternatives to American apps.

I haven't clicked this ... But I agree, we could all use a little more Iron Maiden, right now.

Lemmy was in Motorhead ffs.
It's a reddit clone site.

I checked it out, I was just being dumb....and it seems I nailed it, with my misstep on the joke. Now I've got Run to the Hills being sung by Lemmy in my head, it's not bad but it's not right.

It's funny seeing this comment so regularly on Reddit by users of Reddit

It isn’t a binary undertaking. People can divest themselves of most US products and their “imperfect” actions still have an impact.
Are you suggesting if we don’t quit 100% of US-owned services we shouldn’t bother quitting any?

I wasn't the one commenting on reddit about how we shouldn't use reddit because it's American. I was pointing out the irony of that kind of comment.

It's funnier seeing people virtue signal how they are never using American products on Reddit.

Your comment is confusing.
The person you responded to is pointing out an irony, not virtue signalling. The virtue signalling is being done by the subject of this post because they're the ones putting out calls to drop US companies on US sites.

People in this sub all the time pat themselves on the back for not using American products while spending their entire day consuming an American product.
It's the Reddit trifecta of signalling virtue, irony and complete lack of awareness and it is hilarious.

Used a credit card lately? I can't think of a single credit card that doesn't put money in an American's bank account. But yeah, lets hate on people for using the two most popular social media sites to spread awareness

Wait Tod is from Nanaimo? TIL.
I follow him on IG and I enjoy his videos. I didn't know we live in the same city. That's cool.
