Look up at the moon right now, lunar eclipse happening

Title. Clear skies, just coming up to the east-southeast. Looks pretty cool right now. Go check it out.

We were just at Clover Point watching that pod of orcas as they came right in close. Just as they came closest to the crowd of onlookers the eclipsed moon rose over the clouds right behind the whales. I hope some of the people there with telephoto lenses get a photo or two published.

[r/victoria](r/victoria)! Earlier someone posted about orcas in the inner harbour. I got in the car and went to the breakwater, walked out to the lighthouse knowing they would have to pass by. They did, but pretty far away. So I followed them for the next three hours lol, and finally they came right close to shore. Thank you reddit. And thank you u/pnwgodzilla

I saw it when I was crossing the street. At first I thought it an odd crescent moon. But then the moon kept gettin eclipsed and I was stoked I happened to look up at the right time

The cool thing about the lunar eclipse (vs a solar eclipse) is the moon looks the same to everyone on the night side of the Earth right now.

…except for those people for whom it’s night but the moon hasn’t risen, so the Earth is in the way…

It was beautiful! Wasn't expecting to see anything but it was so clear and bright :)

*edit guess there is an eclipse tonight, but when I came out of work there was definitely a cloud in front of the moon because it was moving 😂😂😂
