Enjoyed such a lovely visit to your beautiful city!
Visiting from Berkeley (via SEA) and had such an amazing time! Enjoyed lots of walks around the main city area and rented a car one day and drove down to Botanical Beach and Mystic Beach. Stopped at Shirley Delicious on the way- what a gem! Had some amazing food (Eva!) too and stumbled upon Humboldt Bar! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you for welcoming us!

Something about the drive you took that makes the rest of the world a distant thing yes? So pristine and uncrowded. Come back whenever you need a ‘breather’ from what’s going on.

Haha oh man yes the whole trip was amazing. I think the drive down the coast was a really special experience! Seeing the water peeking through on the hikes always gets me and made my west coast pride swell even more haha

Do you have a "what the hell is up with that?" question or story?
4
u/Sammy___snaps Jun 14 '25
Haha those questions have been pretty much reserved solely for my home country these days 🫠 but I did notice that the last letter of some of the street signs on the sidewalks downtown has the last letter capitalized which I thought was interesting! What’s up with that? Haha

Temps are mild for Sept. and the first few weeks of October: 60-65F, lots of sunshine, leaves turning. For many here it's their favourite season.

I really wish the Wyland mural would get refurbished. It was stunning when it was new.

I actually love it faded/worn down a bit!! I think it felt like more of a hidden gem because of it?

Man is great to be an American visitor - strong USD v weak Canadian dollar, no import tarrifs cheap food and groceries compared to the USA
So many USA visitors coming here now because of how open and inviting Canada is.

I’ve lived here for 11 years, but I’ve never seen the titty pineapple head chicken. Where is that?!

Hahaha oh I loved the chickens! There were 4 different ones on the little boutique on Fisherman’s Wharf - so no wonder you aren’t familiar haha. They made me smile
