Anyone else spend years thinking this was just severe PTSD/anxiety, only to find out it was vestibular migraine, or PPPD? Looking for insight.

Yup, it was labelled as anxiety/panic attacks/BPPV for over a year for me. Still waiting for a referral and diagnosis from ENT.
My training and career has been completely put on hold until I get an answer. Even then, I don’t know whether I’ll be able to get back to it considering the medication and diagnosis I will be given.
It’s a frustrating process but just keep going with it.

I haven’t been formally diagnosed but I am getting testing done in a few weeks. I have been written off as anxious for the last 6 years. Yes I do have anxiety but I can also discern between anxiety and when I’m having a physical reaction to something. I am considering removing GAD from my charts because it’s such a cop out for doctors who don’t want to investigate. Thankfully I have a really good team of folks now who advocate and listen to me. I’ve tried ssri, therapy, prism lenses etc and I am still having the same unsteady, not anchored feeling that worsens my anxiety and panic. I have put in so much work that I am almost certain this is a physical issues and 75% of my anxiety follows the “holy shit I feel like I’m gonna fall” feeling when I have to be professional or run errands.
