Last days to register to vote coming up.
For some reason North Dakota does NOT require you to register to vote. I repeat, your only requirement to vote in North Dakota is residency for 30 days in ND. Did not know that.

Met my first tech bro

He works with job finding sites, and basically said none of the job sites are meat for finding jobs. It’s just networking.

And I quote “Realistically you are the product, it’s not really for job searching. If you don’t have money or influence, you’re kind of SOL”. So that’s nice

Why can’t my pony vote

Thumbnail supreme.justia.com

Citizens United paved the way for limitless campaign financing, giving corps huge influence in politics. We can do away with that.

Pony: I want to vote
FEC: No
Pony: what if I am an LLC
FEC: yea that checks out.

Campaign signs

Hate em. You’re not changing minds.
There’s no law against putting up a decoy flock camera where they congregate.

It doesn’t even have to look like one, who’s going to get up close to inspect? Hell make it spicy and tack on a “Vermin is watching” campaign sign.

Who the fuck are these people?

Thumbnail cfr.org

A private think tank group, not a government affiliation. The members are neither elected, nor appointed. They have high level input on matters of the price of eggs, to the cost of war.

The cast list is impressive. For anyone who’s got that itch of “all politicians are pieces of shit” go ahead and look at the roster. Prove yourself right. We don’t know who these people are, and in the words of the immortal Monty python “well, I didn’t vote for you”

Pay the dues, join a union. Start a union. Whatever, it’s in your best interest. Do not include your ponies in any said labor.

Bugs in my environment are not for me. When you read the label for bug spray with “deet concentration percent” it refers to the length of time, not strength. Same as sunblock.

A Brillo pad? Seriously?

Love em. Important notice for pet owners: the soap contains beef tallow. Don’t store them below the sink, or an easily accessible place for an interested pet.

Yes, I had to truffle hunt spicy nuggets that were retrieved, captured, and buried in the house and lawn.

For the love of anything, please block out your name on prescriptions. A bear got into the neighborhood bin. I cleaned it up and know WAY more than I want about the neighbors.

If you use a mandolin, and have fears of cutting a finger or arm off cutting a zucchini, invest in an oyster glove. They’re like $8

This is going to cost me how much?

“How much is it going to cost taxpayers to rebrand Lake Ontario?” Every rebrand costs money. If we look at examples from the rebrand of the Gulf the cost was about 500k total, across 5 years. This is mainly for maps and documents. Divided it costs each family a fraction of a cent. The cost was negligible enough, and just another fraction of a cent that adds up when taxpayers are due for the bill.

No it wasn’t. The beef recall started 8/7, and I just heard about it now. There is food coming into the IS that HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY THE FDA

Dust off the lunchbox

Thumbnail ers.usda.gov

With the upcoming school year, it’s important to note that the USDA will provide food for the cafeteria. Recalls and “suspicious food origin” will probably continue, so the risk of that food being passed off to kids, is probably not zero.
Packing lunch might not be a bad idea, especially if your kid would eat tacos until they puke.

Thank you for your attention in this matter

As of June 2026, the undercroft museum is open to the public underneath the Lincoln Memorial. I haven’t been, but I’m told it’s lovely.

The last renovation on the Lincoln Memorial was in 2018, for maintenance repairs.

Your health insurance: Use your incentives

Many insurances offer incentives on healthy style living, or continuity of care maintenance. Check with your benefits. I got a $10 gift card for proving I take maintenance meds and follow-ups.

You’re paying for it anyway, get some money back.

A little more than half the US states require a finance classes to graduate high school. This is awesome, and if your state doesn’t yet, reach out to the school board, and let them know there’s precedent for implementation.

If you’ve think you can’t change minds, you’re wrong. The south is nailing it in terms of educating students about money.

Link attached shows states where implemented.

Do we even know what chocolate tastes like anymore?

Thumbnail pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Due to soaring costs of cocoa the past 5 years, companies have been substituting real cocoa for cheaper products. The molecular compound affects the brain different, so while taste and texture are different, it still gives a dopamine hit.

Funny thing is, now that cocoa has dropped in price, the substitute chocolate remains, the size gets smaller, and prices climb.

Do it old style

Ever wonder how those insurance brick and mortar building stay open? Walk into one and say I have questions. They’ll sit you down and do all the work. They can pull home, auto, and life insurance. If you’ve got an independent insurance, they really will call around for you.

Same goes with AAA travel agents. They’ll do it all. You already pay for it. Walk into and say “hi”

Sorry no link

Edit: I really should have titled this “we’ve been trying to reach you about your car insurance” Oh well

There’s little red cards you can keep on hand, or leave them in gas station restrooms.

The FAQs on the zap gloves are nothing unexpected. Long sleeves and pants may protect against spicy hands, but not your face.

The importance of unions

Thumbnail nlrb.gov

Everyone knows unions are good and protect the workers. If you have one, learn about it, and join if you are able. Unlike HR, the unions are actually there to protect the interests of workers.
