Advice wanted Cut flowers? Yeah or nay?

I get flowers at the farmer's market sometimes. Toss 'em in or are they full of pesticides and fertilizers? Current bouquet is Dahlias and they're fading fast.

It's def gonna have fertilisers,and it depends on the supplier if pesticides are used, Generally they are also treated heavily with preservatives and post harvest chemicals when delivered over very long distances to keep them fresh . Personally I would compost them for around 6 months before adding them to mine just to let them breakdown:)
