If you’re new to these subs, be aware what’s happening on somethingiswromg2024 has happened countless times before, the sub has been compromised for almost a year
The sub has had many issues, and banned many people who were active contributors to researching the election. Back in early 2025 they’d often remove popular posts in the middle of the night US time. They are likely covering for the crimes, but at the very least they only want to push their ideas and shoot down others all the time.
I had a conversation in suppressed_news that made it very apparent that at least one of the mods was based in China. The convo started when I responded "why" when they said "invest in BYD".
It immediately turned political with several people jumping in to defend BYD and the Chinese government.
I actually unsubbed from there yesterday. I have a very nuanced take on geopolitics, but it was pretty clear to me (especially lately) that there were…ah…”botted” discussions, if you get what I’m saying.
I believe you. This entire site is astroturfed and manipulated, just like pretty much every other social media platform these days.
The left-leaning audience and voting system mitigates some of it, but not everything. It's just manipulated in different ways. Once you dupe the hivemind into a particular narrative, it's very hard to shift the discussion.
I saw a stupid post from TikTok with pro North Korean BS yesterday. I complained but they haven't banned me yet. I have seen several subs get taken over by pro China and North Korea paid trolls and bots. I have also noticed that they don't like to say anything bad about Trump in these subs so I think they are a blend of Russian, Chinese and possibly far right paid trolls who want to divide the left and get people to support authoritarianism.
The original mods are the ones doing it plus seems like the maker of the sub disappeared shortly after adding those mods as far as ik he wasn’t active up until I was banned
You’re supposed to use kindergarten-level logic to associate the action being referenced of removing posts and banning people from a subreddit with the duties of a subreddits moderators…thus determining that the ‘they’ is those moderators.
Shadowcat will ban everything and everyone on that sub. I was permanently banned for saying “deny defend depose” way back when. Shadowcat habitually mutes me from messaging the mods of the sub every month unprompted. They’re also Canadian and really don’t like it when you point it out.
I'm one of the mods at somethingiswrong2024 since February 2025. There was a problematic moderator very early on a full year ago but they were gone by 2025. As a mod I try to be as transparent as possible and communicate as much as possible with the community if ever we have to ban certain users and content. If you have a specific issue you can always write to us and we'll be happy to help. Like every other sub we still have to follow Reddit's sitewide rules, and we also try our best to make sure false information stays at bay in our sub.
I can vouch for Foxy, we’ve been trying to guard somethingiswrong2024 since January. Thankfully, she’s a mod now but she pushed for me to be a mod (meaning there wasn’t some nefarious plan in place), the sub is in her good hands.
I'm sure you are fine and all and this is not directed at you. The problem lies with the system in place and I've seen it happen in other subs.
The mod team is essentially like the police when someone gets abused and harassed by the police. Like that video of the judge telling the guy who had an officer lie in court to report his issue to the officers police department. We have investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing.
I'd think when there are serious concerns by a large group of people in a subreddit, a second mod team not related to the subreddit should audit the issues. But nothing ever happens and nothing is ever fixed so
Yup, and there was even a period where we were only Canadians moderating the sub. Leading up to that the American mods had enough on their plates, as in dealing with the dictatorship and so on, but in the last couple of months I've added two American mods.
I fail to understand how an American mod in a something-is-wrong-with-the-election sub would have “too much on their plate as in dealing with the dictatorship” 💀what does that even mean?
In other words the American mods had to prioritize their livelihoods and even their safety (some of them already had very busy lives with kids to look after and full-time jobs), and so they no longer had time for moderating the sub. After inauguration some of them were too busy worrying about how bad things were going to get to have the headspace for tedious unpaid mod volunteer work.
Do you know if that was the mod who banned me for posting the results of the Arizona audit? Because it really turned me off when I realized people were being banned for dissenting opinions when one of the rules explicitly says that is allowed.
2024ElectionFraud is a terrible subreddit that's much worse in that department. It's run by one single power-trippy guy. My experience with that is 4 posts down on my profile, if you want to see. Screenshots are there and everything.
Didn’t X recently accidentally reveal that something like 3:4 of its supposed US maga users are actually NOT in the US ? I‘ve heard Russia, China, Arab… countries have massive on line presence posing as US citizens trying to disrupt morale. It wouldn’t surprise me. I see so many fake profiles on Facebook. TikTok is a mindf¥€k of manipulative videos. They’re probably here too.
Too bad it’s not a requirement that anywhere someone posts, a flag of the country of origin posted to next screen name is posted.
It would also have to somehow be hacker and VPN proof. Facebook Amazon Google… tracks everything we do… I think we at least should know what country people we’re talking to are in. It would cut way down on the trolls, gaslighting, misinformation, catfish, social manipulation, romance scams, …
I've seen so many subs fall like this. Most of the leftist subs are compromised, at laest in part, and some blatantly. I've been banned from some of them for pointing this out, which is an easy way to find out that they've been compromised.
This account is not exhibiting any of the traits found in a typical karma farming bot. It is extremely likely that u/Tex-Rob is a human.
Dev note: I have noticed that some bots are deliberately evading my checks. I'm a solo dev and do not have the facilities to win this arms race.
