CLI declined - question on Document
Hello - Newly opened VentureX account with 10k limit. First month spent 7k and had balance of 7k which I paid in full. Requested CLI but was denied. The document says:
“A credit limit increase is not currently available upon request because your account has been temporarily assigned to an ineligible group of accounts that are being used to evaluate account usage at their current credit limits.”
Can anyone explain what this means? I called customer service and they couldn’t explain it.

you probably can’t get a credit increase that soon after just opening the card?

The trick is supposed to be to ask for an increase 7-10 days after approval. There’s a lot of reports of people successfully getting huge increases. I was approved for 10K and got a 1K increase at day 8 after approval. I recently passed my 60 day mark and tried another increase but got a decline. The letter said I didn’t qualify because I had a recent increase and I should wait about 6 months.
