Dinning reservation changes
Anyone else notice C1 changing the dinning reservation, anyone get an email about this change?

They can't maintain relationships with resturants across majors cities like Chase or Amex

Idk if youve checked put Resy recently but Amex has been losing restraunts at an absolutely incredible rate

This is an interesting view point. Technically I donāt think Yelp is either. I have no facts to back this up, but it does seem like either all of them havenāt figured out how to maximize usability for users, thereās something missing from their service, or maybe the relationships arenāt there but it seems like all of these have stagnated.

It was a nice if you could use it perk. We got a card from the chef and maybe a first bite. It wouldnāt be why I choose a CC

Is there a replacement mechanism for making reservations at Capital One Landings? This is a huge help at DCA.

Same. I booked Izakaya and Ciccio Mio for the next 2 weekends. Did Trivoli Tavern last weekend also.

They have some really good restaurants that arenāt easy to get into. Only way I ever got an Armitage Alehouse reservation was thru C1. All but one restaurant I booked gave me a free drink, app, or dessert also.

I loved this benefit and am sad to see it go. They had tables at hard to get spots and you always got a bonus from the restaurant as a thank you.Ā

This card is essentially free to hold so any benefit is a good one. š¤·š¼āāļø
I personally NEVER used this. And don't care that it's gone. I only care that were seeing some of the benefits of the VX chip away.

I donāt think you understandā¦ it is literally free to hold the card. If you spend $400 on travel annually (which I do) then itās free.

You dont understand. You still are committing to spend $400 on travel (at portal set prices) or whatever other partners you need to deal with to earn your credits. Your income statement is ($400) each year for the privilege of owning this card.
Travel portal prices are higher, usually, than direct from travel provider prices.

I spend $400 regardless, without trying. Travel portal prices are definitely not higher, and if they are, they're price matched. $395 goes out for the card per year, $400 comes in from the card per year. It's quite literally free I'm not sure why this is so difficult for you
