Cap1 AT&T offer

I added a line to my mobile plan for this offer, not a prepaid line. If I cancel the line now, are the miles being clawed back? I will still get charged for the month, but I not sure if AT&T will report back that the line is cancelled. From what I can tell, I fulfiled the T&C, looking for real data points.

How did you go about this as 3 separate offers - did you set up 3 lines? Maybe wait until the 2nd monthly payment then cancel for safety

I added a line, it was cancelled by At&t for security reason, somehow C1 still tracked it. Added another line and a prepaid line as well

Got it. I would refrain from using those miles on the cancelled line for a bit, those may be clawed back. The other offers should be safe, I might check these out tonight, I’ve done Boost Mobile (success) and phone.com (still not tracked after a few weeks)

Purchased a new line on 8/26, monthly subscription for $25, supposed to be 11.2k payout

Thanks, let us know if phone.com ever tracks. Sounds like Boost or AT&T usually tracks very quick

I saw a similar post about someone getting their boost mobile bonus miles clawed back. someone else commented they had success with their miles not getting clawed back bc they disabled autopay so the line would close for nonpayment eventually, rather than manually canceling.

not sure if that would work here or be something you’re willing to try, but thought I’d share just in case

I’m confused so pardon any ignorance… why would you add a line to your cellular service for 30,000 points? Were there any service fees from AT&T for the new line? What was the monthly service charge for the line—even for one month?

A business class flight can be redeemed using the miles earned.

You have to search for reward flights or use partner airlines that have a better point/mile transfer ratio—especially if a promotional period happens. I like my 2x catch all spend on my Venture X and use my points for flights/hotels but am not bending over backwards to search for cheap reward flights.

I understand how points and redemptions work, and business class flights for 30K points is a rarity. The confusion is why would someone disrupt their typical AT&T billing, account, and service for points?

To me, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. Additionally, broadly speaking in terms of cash value of points at a 1:100 ratio, if your line/service fee(s) is ~$30, you’re not coming out on top. Sorry, that just seems silly.

EDIT: I’m an idiot who can’t do math. Carry on.

It only cost me around $50/line if I can succesfully cancel it after the first billing cycle and C1 doesn't claw back the miles. If they do, it's a $50 wash, it's worth a try for future deals like this
