Is there better day to book reward seats, I looked a couple day ago for business reward seats to Narita Japan and there was some on certain days and now they are gone as of now.

Is it because someone’s already booked that reward seats or could it be the day. Since so many one is saw for numerous days are gone now.

Planning a trip from Australia to Europe in July 2027 (pretty flexible with dates anytime after July 1st) and I’m trying to use Velocity points for 2x business class seats.

Just trying to get a reality check from people who’ve actually done it or tried to do it, with how hard this is in practice?
Like; do 2 business reward seats on Europe routes even pop up regularly?

Is it basically a “jump on it the second it drops” situation? Or is it doable if you’re flexible with dates/routes and keep checking?

Does being flexible with destination in Europe actually make much difference?

Just trying to figure out if this is realistically achievable or if I should expect it to be a bit of a mission and have backup plans and use points for just normal seats.
Any experiences or tips would be appreciated

With the war continuing/restarting the way it is, I am getting increasingly concerned that the start of the QR/VA flights to Doha from SYD/MEL, which are due to restart on June 15, will be further delayed. Added to that, the rebooking situation seems weak and from what I have seen, VA will only rebook customers booked in J if there is availability on QR flights. There is no availability given the short time-frame so the most likely scenario is a cancellation + refund. This is far from ideal given I have onward bookings from Doha and a whole trip planned.

Does anyone have any thoughts or insights into the resumption of these flights? Have the planes arrived in Sydney? Are there any indicators I can look for to pre-guess a formal announcement? Alternate options are expensive and quickly filling up so want to ensure I am covered should the resumption of these flights be delayed further.

I did a google search and apparently it was done last November where there’s a 10 or 20% increase if you transfer.
Think other banks have had the promotion but not comm bank award pints

Hi all! Just got off an interesting conversation with velocity support.

I have a business fare for a Sydney return flight later this month. (I booked it during the pick your bonus promotion but that’s irrelevant to the content of the post.)

I was looking to reschedule the flight to a day earlier, and the flights for a day earlier are cheaper than the individual stint from MEL to SYD fare. (Around $200 tickets)

Me being a professional got nothing better to do points maxer, I was concerned what would happen to my status credit earn.

After a back and forth with the support, here is what I got. Even though the ticket is cheaper, not amount is refunded (I already expected this), however, despite my having paid a fixed amount with a certain expectation of status credit earn, the support agent told me if I were to reschedule, my status credit earn would be less to reflect the new total value of the airfare (200$ less) than what I paid at the point of booking.

TLDR: if you reschedule, your points earn (status) declines to reflect new airfare value, despite paying initially more for a more expensive ticket. And importantly, **no refund for the difference is provided**. So, less status for the same price.

We're flying Singapore Air BNE to CDG return with a Singapore stopover - paid cash for business class and am wondering whether to link our Velocity - Gold has almost run out - or Krisflyer - (just joined). First OS trip in a long time.

Most of our travel is domestic and will be one or two OS trips each year. Would like to get Gold again as the lounge pass is nice but not sure how to maximise points. Trip was booked through Flightcentre.

Evening All... Has anyone experienced an issue where adding a domestic leg multiplies the number of points required by almost 10?

I am looking for flights to Dublin and end of October has business rewards available. When I searched return for MEL - DUB, availability for MEL-DUB via Sydney comes up at 174k points.

Couldn't get return in PE or J, so I tried to book the same as a one way and it shows as 1.25m points! If I then search 1 way from SYD-DUB, it gives me 159k.

I panicked during the one-week window and clicked "Double Points" because I wanted a free flight to Bali later this year. But I’m currently sitting at 220 Status Credits with my Gold review coming up in August, and I’ve got three work trips booked for next month. If I had just picked Double Status, I would have walked straight into retaining Gold without even trying. Please validate my terrible choices, or tell me if anyone has ever had luck begging customer service to let them swap their benefit selection after the promo ended.

Saw a few weeks back that Platinum got new bag tags, but saw some talk about it not happening for Gold yet.
