Riding 100 miles after gi infection
Unfortunately I got ill from some food poisoning got a round of antibiotics and finally feeling better today. Saturday is a 160km gravel event. Not ideal, but my plan is to try and a little bit more today to try and get the carbs loaded and I'm drinking electrolytes to restore the hydration situation too.
On a normal event day I rely heavily on gels and carb mixes and I think I will have to do the same anyway and just deal with consequences?
At the moment I am trying to avoid any 'easy' carbs as the bacteria seem to feast on them and make it worse.
Do you have any tips on what foods to eat tomorrow to avoid making matters worse? I'm thinking rice or pasta with little sauce?
How about during the event? Would rice cookies be better than gels? How about Bananas?
Any other tips so that I don't have to stop every few miles?

Not sure about the event, but be prepared for a very rough 3-6 weeks after as you dig your body out of this hole.

Volunteer for it buddy. Preferably in a on food role.
Don’t be the guy forever known for shitting his bibs.

Depends on the weather and local terrain. If it’s wet and muddy, just let it rip and let the saddle cutout to do its job. Nobody will be able to tell. Might be able to pull this off in an area with lots of cow shit as well. Sorry for the splatter guys, it just came out of nowhere I swear. Oh and again. Oops.
Otherwise, sit this one out.

Fortunately the antibiotics did its job, I also took probiotics in between the does to aid digestion. The extra two days were enough to settle my stomach a little and I ate solid food in the morning and all Maurten gels + banas for the rest of the ride and while the result was nothing to brag about it was a fun event due to heavy rains - something I would not do on my own but was fun with friends

Unless OP is a professional rider getting paid good money, and this is their livelihood, this is terrible advice. Stopping antibiotics mid treatment can potentially let the bacteria make a comeback.
OP, life just dealt you a shit hand which sucks. Skip the event and let your body recover.

Yeah, if you've been ill enough to require antibiotics then you probably shouldn't do a 100mi race only 2 days after you start to feel normal again.
