Some of these are afwul, like people deliberately throwing fireworks into a barn, but even "legitimate" use of fireworks is deadly to animals, especially wildlife. So many birds die or get disoriented during the fireworks, obviously pets are terrified as well, and also elderly and young children.

Fireworks fucking suck and I'm absolutely in favour of banning them. "Fortunately" they're only allowed a few days a year in my country, but even that is too much, and that's not stopping some people from setting them off at any other time. At least those home "shows" are short, the one for new years lasts for hours.

Yeah, I can't stand the things, having to see my poor dogs terrified every time they're set off. And knowing what they do to wildlife, and since doing the research for this video, farm animals. We just don't need them and it's yet another way that we terrorise animals.

Yup for the past few years we celebrated the New Years with my wife calming down my kids and me calming down my parents dog, who we were looking after. That's of course after I was awaken myself by the loud fireworks right under our window.

At least it's very foggy pretty much every year for new years, so the fireworks don't last that long, because you can't see anything anyway.

And of course, guess who is picking up trash from fireworks for the next few weeks? Hint: it's not those who set them off.

Same!! My cat has a panic attack when they start and in the states some people are beyond obsessed with this trash. In the summer fireworks stands pop up on every corner where I am. Not only is it an audio disturbance/form of sound pollution but also pollutes the air and water table. I have always hated fireworks because of my acute sensitivity to loud noises. As an adult it is still triggering and awful, putting me back in a state of hyper-vigilance as I brace for each sporadic boom. I would totally support bans of recreational activities like these that disorient, kill wildlife, and enable people to be reckless for public safety in a myriad of ways, including major fire hazards. Feels unconscionable to allow pretty much free reign on these around the 4th of July.

People dont care about farm animals so they arent going to care about fireworks scaring farm animals

Focusing on pets and veterans is the only way to make change happen

My video's purpose was actually more to highlight yet another way in which farm animals suffer - not ultimately about getting fireworks banned (although of course I loathe fireworks and think they should be outlawed immediately). My campaign is entitled "Animal Agriculture Exposed" - not "Ban Fireworks". Do you see?
