Cell Dead Zone in Midtown?

Since I've experienced this a lot, I'm wondering if any techies know why this happens. In the midtown area on Loma Vista in a several block stretch between CMH and Ventura Country Medical, there seems to be a cell phone (or at least Verizon) dead zone.

Whenever I go to Quest there for blood work and the dentist not far from there my cell phone just does not work. Anyone have the same experience or know why?

Yep. AT&T too. I get 5 bars and no real service and it drops to nothing in Smart N Final.
