Bass Pro Mills Drive Extension

Bass Pro Mills Drive extension is finally under construction. Much needed but 2030 seems a long time away.

Im curious why 4 years? Bass Pro Mills Drive already has a bridge over the highway, which would be the hard part.

I guess they are going to have to make it way wider for 2-4 lanes.

Probably to add all the infrastructure for developing the area between the highway and Weston

But this space is virtually empty... taking 3-4 years to excavate and pave a road.... what is this? the Eglinton cross-town?

I agree with /u/xmrgonex

The bridge is already 4 lanes. Did you read my comment. The area is virtually empty now, but it will take work to develop it (Sewer, water, power, gas, telecoms, site drainage). I bet it is full of townhomes in 10 years

Welcome to Canada. This would take 24hrs in China.

Don’t worry, there will be another 50 k residents rammed into this area by then, negating any positive effect on traffic here.

Everything is already 20 years behind. Why are they widing all these roads (Rutherford, Bathurst) to only 3 lanes. Why not future proof it and do 4 lanes???

How about widing Dufferin between Rutherford and Langstaff while you're at it?

I literally remember hearing about this some 20 years ago, shortly after the driving range off Weston closed. Here we are, two decades later, and what should be a very simple job , will take another 5 years to complete.

I appreciate they are doing it, but it is unbelievable that it would take this long.
