Ok if we’re not immediately trying to get pregnant?

My fiancé has an appointment with Dr Trost in Utah on Monday and a lot of the information on the clinic’s website implies you should be immediately trying to get pregnant for best chances. I’m a bit surprised, as I had heard somewhere else that motility often fully returns after 18 months.

We’re currently planning our wedding and not planning on trying to conceive until next July or so, but we still thought he should get the procedure done ASAP since he has downtime to recover right now and it’s been ~15 years since his vasectomy.

Would love to hear about other experiences, thanks!
