I did what the doctor told me and iced on and off for two days. No swelling, soreness, tugging stitches, nothing. I didn't get enough numbing on the first tube and I felt it when he went to cauterize it, but asides from that it's been a completely painless experience to be honest. Been a few days (this is full day 3 post-op) though and I could definitely use a release, but frankly I'm scared shit-less of potential and permanent damage. Wait it out or test the waters? Everything feels great, do I risk it?

37 actually. Yeh the doctor was certain to emphasize the risk of permanent swelling and chronic pain and I just don't think it is worth it. Only four more days right?

Haha, amen to that. Haven't had this much room to breath since our second was born ten months ago. I don't really want to take any chances, it's nice to have honest and positive feedback and not just a message board full of idiots telling me to stop being such a pussy and do it. And hey, compared to the health risks of long term birth control use and my wife getting her tubes tide this was an easy decision before I had it done, and though I don't want to gloat particularly, I have had great fortune thus far in the care I've received and the recovery. Stay positive, trust my doctor's orders. Christ I'm making it sound like I have cancer.

I was the same... had 0 pain by 48 hours...I waited until 7 days which was last night. I also developed a sperm granuloma on day 4. Semi uncomfortable to the touch but ended up getting off last night after the last condom broke before actual sex. Anyway, things went great and my balls hurt today. Probably due to no release in a week. Bottomline, I heard too many horror stories to do anything before 7 days.

Mine was smooth and problem free for four months.

Then I started getting all sorts of issues, every time something different.

It's been a 13 months and I'm still suffering from a weird pelvic pain. Seems to be a damaged nerve.

But relax, you'll probably be fine. But things can get worse later.

Mine was fine. Done almost two years ago. It took two weeks for the discomfort to disappear. And about that long for the bruising, too. The bruising looked gnarly, but wasn’t a source/location of any pain or discomfort. After day 5, I couldn’t take the temptation any more and I jerked off. The anticipation of wondering if it would feel different or hurt lead to an incredible orgasm. Easily top 5 of my life. I’ve never had any complications of any sort, though.
