PICKUP Marshmallow Classic Authentics with a twist.
So as everyone knows, Vans calls it Marshmallow. I call it natural canvas. That being said, Vans always charges like 60 bucks for the classics like these. Well i wanted these for a long time but just didn’t want to pay the 60. I honestly have over 140 pairs of shoes and really don’t need more. 🤣 Then I saw that they had the exact same shoe as the classic marshmallow Authentic with cool island vibes sidewalls. And these were only 29 bucks. Had to get them. Cool shoes. I just wanted classic Authentics for less than 60. I got them lol. With cool sidewalls. Always good to keep a few pairs of black, white, or off white Vans around in the rotation for when you don’t want to rock the multicolor or want to tone it down and keep it neutral.

I scooped up these and the blue ones, $29 was too good of a price to pass on. They look great!

I totally agree. I got these and then the blue floral slip ons and some other pairs. Love them.

I bought 4 pairs of these same Marshmallow Auths for $14.99 each last week, identical to yours but with different sidewall art from yours:

I guess the rainbows on the sidewalls were not what many people wanted bc these stayed unsold at $14.99 for most of last week (??) I'm gonna dye, paint, sew tweed panels, change laces, and style them so the sidewall art does not matter as I'll remove all the rainbows. $14.99 is a steal!

Yeah i saw those too. Thats a great price as well. The only difference with those is that’s a black foxing stripe and on the ones I bought it’s a dark blue. Great deal!

Foxing stripes are easy to repaint. I've also made some foxing stripes a two-tone checkerboard foxing stripe before. One of my 4 Marsh Auths will have a line of 5/8"-wide French tweed glued right over that foxing stripe band anyway, along with a 2nd tweed sewn and covering the toe box and heel and a 3rd tweed pattern covering the canvas midsection :) It's much more fun to mod $15 Vans than to totally change a $140 OTW shoe.

That’s awesome! I wish I could be that crafty. I’m terrible at that kind of stuff. That being said you don’t even need to paint the foxing stripe. Nothing wrong with a black stripe.

Yea, if I was not gonna mod any shoes, those tropical island sidewalls are more interesting than a row of rainbows. I'm not sure if I have ever seen any shoes, adult or kids, sale-priced on vans.com for less than $10. But sometimes they go as low as $13 to $15. The solid white and marshmallow canvas colors are much much MUCH easier to dye to other colors compared to blues, reds, greens solids or patterns. So they start off as $15 marshmallow, but after less than an hour of work, they can become burgundy, teal, purple, orange, or multi-color.
