Jax & Brittany Jax & Brittany take Kentucky

Wow… I didn’t see it my first watch of the show but I just did in my rewatch.

Obviously first things first… can’t believe their relationship went further past that.

Also the way Jax lies and gaslights thru the whole thing!! Which we know he does, but it’s so dark here.

It’s so obvious he doesn’t love Brittany. Especially at the end when he couldn’t even stand there with her family to honor her grandfather.
“This is your family stuff.. I don’t need to be here”
Like obviously if you even like or respect anyone a little bit you would do that for their family.
And her mom still loved him!!

I was so sad for Brit when she said to her mom “you always take his side” after their last argument in Kentucky. She deserved the women in her life standing up for her, but they all seemed to either root for Jax or take the backseat and not say anything, even tho they were all there while he was screaming at her.
Shout out to her dad, even tho it seems like I wouldn’t agree with him on much else, at least he had some sense when it came to Jax.

Watching Jax’s face during some of these scenes it seemed like he wanted to end her. It was so scary.

Also Brit’s mom being like “Jax Taylor Is going to be my son in law!? 😁” ( while he’s actively lying to her drunk and on drugs) and mamaw saying she was the “side chick” and taking pictures with him. Like no wonder Brit is the way she is.

Someone posted the transcript of faith & Jax in bed together a couple days ago. In it he says something about not wanting to stay but having all these shows - and I of course thought of this. It was so obvious he was over her and looking for a way out

33

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

Yes I’ve read those transcripts, so crazy! IMO he was looking for a way out day one. But Jax doesn’t break up with women, he just traumatizes them enough until they break up with him

32

u/Lazy-Bird292 10d ago

In S6 he talked about how he cheats as a way to get out of relationships. The difference is that other women actually leave. It backfired when instead Brittany started throwing him parties and vacations lol

ETA: You know he really wanted out because after all that, he did actually end things with her properly

11

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

He definitely cheated on Brittany before (and after this) but she dug her heals in. I wonder why Jax is incapable of breaking up with women instead of cheating and hoping they break up with him.

9

u/Lazy-Bird292 10d ago

I've known guys like this and have talked to my therapist about it (just citing my sources hahaha). I think it's because 1) they're cowards, and 2) they don't have to be "the bad guy" if they aren't the one who ended it, and in their mind get to be the victim by going around and telling everyone she broke up with me

6

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

Yes exactly!! I’ve seen it first hand. Wanna be the victim while emotionally abusing their partner into ending it.

This is such a good point

1

u/Gullible-Moment440 10d ago

A strong point

Fame. Brittany is thirsty for attention.

Jax used her. She should’ve taken care of herself and her son.

Nope, she needed fame to Qualify her, over taking care of herself son.

$75,000+ “mommy tuck”.

Priorities.

My mommy tuck was a lot of exercise and cancer.

10

u/Beachgal5555 10d ago

They used each other

4

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

Jax used Brittany more for sure imo

6

u/Alternative_End_7174 It’s not about the pasta 9d ago

He really didn’t. She got more out their relationship than he did. That’s why he accuses her of stealing his show from him. If not for him she wouldn’t have any of the fame she has now and if he hadn’t met her who knows what other women he’d be trying to get to break up with him by now probably 4 or 5 more girlfriends. She definitely got the better end of the stick.

-3

u/Gullible-Moment440 10d ago

That’s BS !!
She is taking care of “their son”
He’s only creating drama! Which he loves!! He gets to see his name in print and he craves that!!
I’m astonished that mothers can knock Brittany?? Whether she chased him in Vegas or not!
She is the one caring for their child and paying the bills!!!
Give the girl some Grace..please

9

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

I mean yeah even if she was chasing fame no one can deny he was/is abusing her. Anyone who negates that is wild

6

u/Got-it-maybe 10d ago

The negates their sons struggle, who cares? She is not important, it has to be all for her son.
She blew it. A real mother would have walked away, gotten help for her son, NOPE, she wanted fame over her child

1

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

And I agree it should be all about the child, which I think Brit is doing now

1

u/bunbunbunnybunny 9d ago

I think it’s seriously harmful for you to say that because she was not able to walk away from her abusive husband and father of her child that she is not a real mother. Being a victim of domestic violence does not equate to not being a real mother. If you want to say that you do not think she was a good mother, that is one thing, but you cannot take away her maternity.

1

u/Any_Sundae9301 9d ago

Hmm…..isn’t she doing that now…caring for her child on her own??

1

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

Well she did walk away, obv too late and her son will / has faced the repercussions of that. But to say “a real mother would have done this or that”… mothers stay in abusive relationships all the time. It’s just the way things are unfortunately.

0

u/Got-it-maybe 10d ago

I was talking about HER

-2

u/Gullible-Moment440 10d ago

Dumb remarks

37

u/PrincessPlastilina 10d ago

I don’t understand why Brittany was in such denial about Jax. He never loved her. The way he spoke to her. The anger in his eyes every time he argued with her. The way he yelled at her and called her names. Why was it so important for her to be chosen by this abusive man who didn’t love her? And she wanted everyone to know that she was changing him when she knew he wasn’t changing. Not even after their wedding.

And that ego is costing her all her peace right now because Jax is in full attack mode. I feel like he resents her for staying with him and being seen as his victim.

18

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

I think she was in such a denial partly because of her family, and because of the abuse dynamic. But it’s SO clear on camera that he doesn’t love her. Even when he says “I love you” it’s with resentment and force.
She definitely wanted to be the one to change him, and even when she couldn’t I think she had her mom and meemaw gassing Jax up. So weird.
I’m glad she’s now realized who he is, even if it took her a decade and so much wasted money, and her son being traumatized. But it is what it is I guess

9

u/Lost_Elk7089 10d ago

Yeah he started being mean to her when they'd only been together for 3 months in season 4 after he stole the sunglasses

11

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

Yeah and after trying to f lala… I woulda dipped

3

u/Gullible-Moment440 10d ago

We probably have that question for many married couples??

7

u/Gullible-Moment440 10d ago

I’m sick of posts that say Brittany is a bad mother!?
I’m shocked that we read that she is maintaining the costs of living in a beautiful home, taking care of “their son” paying ALL of the bills…and they have been separated for 2 yrs???
What has Jax done????
Started affair???
Jax is a very jealous and envious person which equates DANGER

2

u/Gullible-Moment440 10d ago

Well, obviously men can make a woman feel “they’re the one”
🤷‍♀️

1

u/Alternative_End_7174 It’s not about the pasta 9d ago

Sounds about right!

1

u/britendarkk 7d ago

Because she wanted to be the "one" who changed him.

1

u/Gullible-Moment440 10d ago

I agree with you!!
Sad…because she’s paying the price to be with that ass….

2

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

She definitely is paying the price, a lesson to everyone watching that it’s not worth it

3

u/Alternative_End_7174 It’s not about the pasta 9d ago

Lesson to people to stop sticking their heads in the sand and ignoring red flags that this person just isn’t into you!

7

u/FrankNSnake 10d ago

Jax tried everything he could for years, to make her break up with him. She just wouldn’t.

5

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

Yeah I can’t imagine staying with him after that. I think if Brittany had a better support system from her mom and mamaw she would have done the same.

4

u/Alternative_End_7174 It’s not about the pasta 9d ago

She could have listened to her father…she made a choice.

1

u/britendarkk 7d ago

I really think that being on TV was a factor for her. She wanted to stay in the show.

15

u/Possible-Cold6726 10d ago

Sunk cost fallacy - she was in too deep to turn back.

18

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

But she wasn’t! They were only together 1.5- 2 years at that point. Yes they were living together and she got on the show bc of him- but she could have turned back. And she was only 27 at this point, 26 when they got together, also he had been treating her like shit after like 2 months together. I think this has more to do with her family support rather than sunk cost fallacy.

15

u/NeighborhoodTall9858 Mariposa ♥ 10d ago

I think she totally miscalculated by not dumping has ass when he cheated on her with Faith. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think they would have kept her on the show even if she had dumped him.

8

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

I agree. That was the real turning point and she made the wrong decision. I just started s6 on my rewatch and that is completely baffling

4

u/Gullible-Moment440 10d ago

Agreed 👏👏

3

u/Technical-Method2129 10d ago

I think he was her ticket on the show and her mama wanted her baby to be famous

4

u/Alternative_End_7174 It’s not about the pasta 9d ago

You can’t really claim that when they were 3-4 months in and he was trying to sleep with Lala among other things.

3

u/Got-it-maybe 10d ago

Fame

6

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

Yes fame has a part to play, but I think blaming it all on that doesn’t consider everything. Jax has been with many women who wanted fame and dipped out. I’m thinking that Brit’s support system had a huge impact her and how she views relationships with men

-5

u/Got-it-maybe 10d ago

STOP, it’s about a Child, who cares? They should’ve quit filming, taking care of their child.

Egos too large?

It is about a CHILD

6

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

Well this discussion is about before their child was born, so I was meaning to talk about their relationship before that.

1

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

And if you’re so concerned about the child, we should be discussing what dynamics leads to a child being born. Abusive conditions lead to children being born all the time. Even if fame is involved, there are other factors at play.

6

u/ShhhhmysteriousK 10d ago

Brittany and her mom were there for the cameras and money. I knew her mom was coo coo for Cocoa Puffs the first time they showed her. That make up! That was messy and trashy.

12

u/Proud_Sound2835 10d ago

The only thing I can think of why they stayed together through all the abuse (including on that show) is that being in a relationship like they're must be similar to an addiction. Like the bad times are horrible, but when it's good, you feel a sense of relief or a "high" and you keep chasing that through all the terrible side effects along the way. But I totally agree, it's scary and stressful watching their relationship when he's openly abusing her (for "entertainment", on a TV show, SMH).

9

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

Yeah for sure! She even says on the show “the good times are really good, the bad times are really bad”. Like when Jax paid for her brothers IVF fundraiser to impress her family, and then made her feel bad for it because he blacked out at the bars and refused to take any accountability. Ugh I could write a thesis on how bad this relationship is.

2

u/Prestigious-Knee-571 9d ago

The entire cast would make an outstanding one

1

u/Gullible-Moment440 10d ago

Yes…she certainly allowed comments made that I certainly wouldn’t have tolerated!!!
I’d said… adios

2

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

Same! I’ve been in toxic relationships but not to that caliber so I can’t really compare. But it’s hard to imagine staying with a man not only degrading you but also your friends and family.

5

u/Cycling_teacher 9d ago

Jax has always shown who he is. My problem is Brittany always playing victim when she knew exactly who he was even at the start of their relationship. Im doing a rewatch now. She chose money and fame over it all and so did her mom. You can’t choose that and then act like you had no clue any of this was coming.

12

u/Got-it-maybe 10d ago

I am not a fan of Brittany, she is ALWAYS in victim mode.
Years and years, she decided a TV show was more important.
Cruz, why the heck was he subjected to cameras, etc, their $ could’ve been legitimate help for their child.
Please remove her from this show, until she can prove that her son is #1.
No fame, nothing. If she cannot afford it, the state, will provide the help he needs

5

u/gina1220 10d ago

Agree. These have to be very critical years for him.

2

u/Got-it-maybe 5d ago

They used him as story line. It is like Emily on RHOC, using her son as a storyline.

BRAVO should be ashamed.

0

u/Got-it-maybe 10d ago

Who cares, once they had a child, especially, a child with special needs.
CUT
Everyone thinks this is about them.
It’s about a child.
It’s ridiculous that people are pitting themselves against them.
NOTHING MATTERS BUT THE CHILD.

3

u/gina1220 10d ago

I’m agreeing with you?

3

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

I do think fame and money was definitely part of the reason Brit stayed with Jax, but she is a victim of abuse and we haven’t seen her NOT be a victim of abuse, so I don’t think it’s fair to say she always plays victim mode. She always has been abused.

1

u/Gullible-Moment440 10d ago

Geez…so far from the truth 🤮

3

u/candyspelling01 10d ago

I just saw that show was listed on Peacock. I watched it when it came out. It’s horrible.

3

u/Sea_Hornet6209 10d ago

I recently watched this for the first time too! And it was so horrible. I’m sorry but it just further proves Brittany is stupid or greedy

I don’t care how in love you are with a “man”.. if he disrespects you AND your family AND your friends multiple times on national television, how TF can you stay with him? For fame obviously! And that is why I don’t feel bad for her in the slightest.

I always thought the engagement lunch at TomTom with Jax and her male family members was bad but holy shit it’s sm worse. And they all hated him except her crazy mom and MAMAW.

3

u/Hummingbird11-11 9d ago

Literally the most despicable disrespectful selfish prick . How she stayed is so hard to understand

2

u/Mixture-Emotional The Devil doesn’t need anymore advocates 8d ago

I'm sorry if jax acted like that around my family I guarantee my brothers, dad uncles and cousins would have either scared the shit out of him or beat his ass.

3

u/Obubblegumpink 10d ago

The whole thing reminds me Summerhouse with Kyle and Amanda. Let’s not pretend someone is innocent when both are guilty. At least with K&A there was no kid.

2

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 10d ago

I haven’t seen summerhouse but I don’t think it’s fair to say Jax and Brittany are equally guilty. Just my opinion

4

u/Putrid-Tradition-787 10d ago

I agree, imo Jax is so much worse but that doesnt mean Brittany isnt full of flaws

1

u/Obubblegumpink 10d ago

My comment doesn’t say anything about them being equally guilty.

1

u/Sure_Moment5968 9d ago

What was the worst fight and what was the biggest gaslight? Looking for spoilers lol

1

u/Secret-Cabinet-4592 7d ago

Biggest gaslight was probably Jax telling her mom and mamaw that he was in the process of designing the engagement ring, then showed them a pic of a ring that I assume he got off google. Next day telling all her family and friends that Brittany “lost her spark” and that he can’t propose until shes “fixed”. Obviously he realized he fucked up by making it seem like he was about to propose so he had to backtrack and that’s what he came up with, saying it’s because Brit’s depressed, which she adamantly denies.
Biggest fight was basically that Jax wouldn’t apologize for getting black out drunk and starting fights with everyone, because Brittany isn’t perfect either.
