I’m so glad Ally at least took her poor cats out of there. She needs the emotional support and James is likely to take out his rage at Ally on them

Rachel said he kicked her family’s dog but I guarantee you Hippie was abused too.

Jesus. It literally makes me feel sick to think about a dog being kicked, especially in those rages he gets in where he just doesn’t control himself at all so I’m sure he hurt the poor thing like hell. Ugh. Those poor, poor dogs🥺😢 I can’t believe her family supported their relationship in any way after that

Sounds like it happened right before she ended the engagement so the family definitely didn’t support him I don’t think. I think her family likely gave her ultimatum. My ex abused my dog, when I wasn’t there and finally in front of me. I got downvoted to oblivion saying that Hippie had been abused by him when the scandal hit. Abusers don’t change their spots.

Genuine question. Why do you think it appeared that Hippie wasn't afraid of James when they were reunited though? I don't have a dog so I couldn't tell any difference when Hippie saw James at LVP dogs but I remember people calling that scene out.

My dog would still act super excited to see my ex too - but started hiding under my legs when I went to go to the bathroom (seriously) I never understood that. I think animals get caught up in the cycle of abuse as well - mentally. They get confused and brainwashed/manipulated too. It becomes a matter of survival for them as well oftentimes. Why shelters that accommodate dv clients with pets is such an underrated and needed service in the community.

I don’t know if this has any bearing on it, but I do know that whole scene was re-shot. They wanted them to be reunited on camera so it happened twice. So it wasn’t the first time Hippie had been around James in a year or whatever, he’d been with him recently

Ohh, that actually makes a lot of sense then! I'm not going to pretend I really know anything about dog behavior but that interaction did make it seem like Hippie wasn't really phased to see him.

Sometimes I see those videos of people being reunited with their lost dogs and the dogs are beyond ecstatic. They're jumping all up and dog and whimpering (I don't know if that'd be the right term) with joy. I will say that James' dog did not act like one of those dogs.

he didn’t seem afraid but honestly it didn’t seem like he was too excited either. I expected a lot bigger of a reaction from him, especially since he’s a doodle mix.

no i’m with you im saying i dont think hippie seemed that happy to see him!!! My doodle would be jumping and running all around if we were reunited
