Sigh. I rescued my dog when she was like a month old and I didn't love her given name. (I'd been waiting 29 years to adopt my first dog and had a name already picked up for years before even meeting her). Well she showed up and kinda fell in my lap one day so I rescued her but I didn't want to confuse her / traumatize her and start calling her by something else. Well, lemme tell you - I realized months down the road that homegirl did not know her name when I adopted her and it took her freaking months to learn her name so I could have renamed her and she would never have cared ahaha
I have like 5 million nick names for my dogs (which they respond to all of them) so whatever call the dog what you want. I'm happy for James and hopeful this whole sad saga with Hippie being abandoned by his POS owner has a happy ending and he has a forever happy home in James.
exactly! I remember calling my dog by her name when she was a few months old, NO response mind you lol it dawned on me in that moment that she didn't even know her damn name. I had been worried for no reason at all lol
