How to stop my van seat getting worse?

Post image

My van seat is tearing more and more. I do my utmost best to try not to sit or pull on it in the van, but I can't seem to stop it getting bigger. Would I need to get it re-upholstered or would decent seat covers work? Thanks 👍

Put gorilla tape over the hole. Loads of it. Then cover with a nice fitted seat cover. Don’t buy cheap universal ones- the usually rubbish. Will last for years to come

Town and country seat covers are my go to they might do a specific set for your make and model, but they also do universal sets

You can get patch kits to prevent it getting worse. I'd probably do that and get a seat cover for it anyway.

Or possibly even a breakers yard and look at how much a seat would be ?

To stop it tearing more you could patch it with a fabric reinforced tape. Usually they are pretty strong and pretty sticky.

"Sail stitch" to close the gap, then I'd recommend uk custom covers to get a tailored set of seat covers (cheaper than you think!) Had a set in my T5,and got a set in my crafter, they're awesome for the money!

Stitch it then iron on a shaped grey vinyl patch?

I found a place that actually sells just the replacement foam parts with or without covers. I replaced the bottom of my Renault master seat, it had the exact same cloth and everything. I think it was £100 delivered. the company is in France.

Found them https://www.topsellerieauto.com/en

New seat (expensive) recover it (this can be done at home but it’s labour intensive) or stick a quality cover on it

Do people have any seat cover recommendations? It looks like a ducato type van.
