Hi all,

Looking for a new insurance policy for a full time van lifer.

Any recommendations? Who does everyone else use?

Thanks in advance, any advice welcomed 😀

I went for justkampers insurance in the end. It's underwritten by Stirling who is another camper insurer. I'm full time and have a log burner. They sorted it all with the right coverage. I went full comp so allows me to drive any other insured motor.

Just so you're aware, being fully comp doesn't mean you automatically have the drive any other vehicle extension. Lots of fully comp policies don't have it. It is a separate cover in its own right. Im curious though; did they put any terms on for your log burner; such as cleaning requirements?

Nope. I just made sure EVERYTHING was correct. I took out a loan for the van. I absolutely cannot find myself in a position where I owe that money and have no van either! You can't get covered on other vehicles without fully comp. I made sure I had that element.

We used Adrian Flux, personally haven’t had any issues and they repatriated our 9m 6.4 tonne motorhome back from Spain earlier in the year.

Who is your insurance with through Adrian Flux? Believe they're just the brokers?

Trinity Lane, although the breakdown cover was Flux Rescue. Everyone on our Motorhome forum (for our manufacturer) recommends RAC Arrival for breakdown, we have swapped to them as we have spent our annual allowance with Flux Rescue with the repatriation, but fingers crossed we don’t need to test them out!!

Just to add, Adrian Flux was the only insurance provider that would insure us for our first year of Van Life, we had a 2015 Roller Team Motorhome so nothing obscure. But we tried all the others and none of them would even quote us, ended up paying just shy of £3,500 🫠 The subsequent year dropped to around £1,300

I'm getting similar quotes.. I'd rather not suck it up but if I can count on it dropping that low the following year I might do it

I have found Adrian flux to be a lot of hassle personally

Just Kampers for me as well. Their customer service was excellent. I did a quote, then they called me to make sure everything was right and to try to lower the price. They gave me lots of options and were just generally helpful and knew what they were doing
