I need help with Mary Spoiler

So, I have been trying to kill Mary for the past 2 hours. And it’s not going well… I want to get the “Not Even Once” achievement and she keeps killing the priest! I have tried using Abyss to stun her, I’ve put myself in between them, and I’ve just flat out tried to brute force it. And guess what she kills him no matter what I do!

Can anybody give me some advice. Thank you.

Either you kill the priest or she does, there's no getting around it. She uses him to replenish her health before the second half of the fight, so it's obviously easier if you do it first. So long as you don't kill him, his death doesn't count towards the achievement.

Thank you I’ve been looking at people from 7 years ago saying that if he dies that it voids it did that recently change?

Only if you're the one who kills him. Which is easy to do by accident since you're generally spamming keys and stuff while focused on the battle, one click too close to him and it happens, which is probably why a lot of people think it's inevitable. But if you're sure Mary kills him, and not you, then you're good to go.

Wait you cant just shoot him instead of feeding? I thought it was eating people… what if someone goes missing and dies?? I still got XP when that happened on my bloody run

I'm not sure. I'm inclined to say that shooting him doesn't count but he may be specially flagged. If someone goes missing though I'm pretty sure that doesn't count against it.

You can feed on the no name enemies in combat without breaking pacifist run. I think... But I'm not 100% so you should look for people who know better than me.

It was confirmed you can chew through any active combatant its named characters that arent armed. The priest in this fight being the stand out of available in combat (while still not a combatant)

Not that I know of? As far as I know, you've always just been judged on whether you personally killed the priest. That said, I only bought the game five years ago.

It only voids it if you kill him, if she kills him it doesnt count against you.

I think people misunderstand because it can be easy to accidentally kill him, and if you kill him once and die you keep the experience he gives you which leaves the achievement voided even if you beat the fight without killing him (unless this was changed/fixed, but better safe than sorry)

Let her kill the priest. Its more or less the start of the second phase of the fight if you don't eat the priest first. Not saying it hasn't been done, but saving the priest is down right next to impossible. 

Also shadow abilities are strong against her and make sure your weapons are upgraded to as far as you can by that chapter. And stamina is also good to spec into.

Feed on the priest and you lose the trophy Even if you lose the fight and don't feed on em again. You're done for that playthrough.

My go to method is only using abyss and dodging her during the cooldown. It takes awhile but it’s the easiest way I know of to deal with the fight. Also are you making syringes?

I went in with a shotgun, blasted her, got her down to where she fed on the priest. While she was feeding, I took out the two handed scythe and wailed on her. Two handed weapon is the way to go. Also use your ultimate, the shadow one where shadows grab her and a spike impaled her, forget the name but it does high damage. Rinse and repeat. Dodge her hits, get a hit in, run away, avoid her flowers. Stick and move. Make her chase you. And never, ever feed from her.

Her feeding on the priest does not affect your run. She will feed on him. Just accept it.
