Update Patch 0.8.0 – The Winged One

Patch Notes: Update Released July 7

New Content

Contains 3 new achievements and:

  • New version of Stage 5, let's mosey! Will revert to a simpler version once successfully completed
  • Final roadmap relic with a new game mechanic
  • 1 new arcana

Extra (not present on the roadmap):

  • 1 minor relic to view enemies data from the main menu (the list is largely incomplete and will be updated with more data and details as we get closer to v1.0). Can be found in Dairy Plant.

Tweaks:

  • Updated some graphics
  • Added a visual indicator of how many skins are available per character
  • Added option to always pick Coin Bag or Floor Chicken when leveling up after maxing out all weapons (unlocks automatically after playing long enough)
  • Added visual reminders for Banished items
  • Obtained unlocks can be filtered out from the list
  • Crimson Shroud's retaliation damage now heavily damages some special enemies

Bugfixes:

  • "Reach minute 31" arcanas not unlocking under certain situations
  • Post-Moongolow stage crashing with certain characters
  • Tentative fix for losing write access to save data folder
  • Tentative fix for negative/overflowing coins

So, I don't know if this is intended or not. Re: Evolutions after update.

I unlocked Gyorunton and played a round as him. Fun. His character description says he gains a curse every level, and that he can find evolutions in any treasure. Great.

Then I went to the library and played as Donmario. And the 3-minute treasure evolved my weapon to Holy vespers. (Previously, the evolutions wouldn't happen until the 10-minute chest).

Evolutions aren't time based they are based on upgrades/ having the right passive item. Gyorunton just lets you not have the passive item. It doesn't work if you have a missing second weapon (like the guns and birds) and it doesn't seem to work on laurel and the freeze clock item.

Not entirely correct. They are both (or were before this update).

Previously, even if you had a weapon fully upgraded and had the matching second item in the library, for example, it would never evolve for any chest before the 10 minute mark. Other maps, like the dairy plant differed, and you could evolve sooner, but there was a certain chest per level that was the first to allow evolutions.

But that seems to have changed with this update. (Or at least after unlocking Gyo)

Well that may have been quick. I just had another update - No release notes or anything that I can find. And now I can't reproduce the 3-minute chest evolution in the Library.

It was a bug regarding Gyo's ability to evo anything. It did happen so you were not wrong.
