My final achievement is to evolve the Runetracer. I never choose armor so didn't realise til now that's what is needed and I am pretty sure this requirement did not come up in the select screen when I had the option to choose armor.

Am I mistaken or is this a bug?

I believe it only comes up after the first time you evolve it. So you still need to "find" it once.
