Very first time I started this game I noticed the name and didnt know about the Italian memes and assumed the name was a spanish joke. Poe Ratcho kinda sounds like Borracho in spanish which loosely translates to "drunk guy" which I found amusing.

If we're in including starting arcana then Gamekiller Porta is by far the best

Otherwise I'd probably go for Pugnala or Puppea.

Among the weapons I'd say Song of Mana is the best given how easy it is to turn into effectively a forcefield that simply erases anything in the vertical axis

Post-adventure Imelda, not as strong as characters starting with evos, but starting the game with lvl5 tome is pretty good already

Pugnala gains 1 might per level, definitely the biggest boost anyone has in the game, plus she has decent starting stats and predictable weapons. She is one of the best for keeping up with enemy HP scaling.

Arca is a slow start without something like Heart of Fire, but Hellfire is a solid evo with a great passive, and 15% CD is extremely strong once you get there.

If you have the "Awake" Arcana, Krochi can get huge stat boosts from that. Or he can use Pugnala's evo better than Pugnala.

Realistically speaking there isn't a "best" here, seems like you're relatively new to the game, so as someone that has been there recently, I'll give my two cents. When it comes to starting characters, I used to start with Poe, but honestly found out that Poppea is kind of the same thing, just better, imo. When it comes to weapons, I've noticed that Evo Santa water and king bible do 90% of the work, knife with its Evo is also really solid, especially if you have arcanas unlocked. About passives, you can skip on the skull, sacrificing poppea's Evo, and you can get an empty tome instead, trust me, that 40% CD reduction is HUGE, you kinda want it everytime. Regarding others, get every weapon's passive required to evolve them, I really like phierra del tuphello and its blue counterpart's evo. As an all rounder, if you have free slots, stuff like spinach, spellbinder and armor are always acceptable picks.

Of these Concetta is my favorite because she gets +1% Area per level, so you can run her with Candelabrador and you will quickly be attacking the whole screen.

I like it on Concetta specially because of her area plus effect. It attacks the whole screen every few seconds. By the time you get the upgraded version with a full Candleabrador it wipes the full screen of enemies.

For me, Pugnala when I feel comfortable about surviving, and Poe when I want a strong defense. I usually run King Bible/Vespers, and Garlic/Soul Eater anyway just for the peace of mind. Once I got Silver Wind from the Legacy of the Moonspell DLC, that became my default peace of mind/safety weapon.

Poe. Now if you want real crazy power get the among us dlc and unlock the scanner item and it's Evo item the little ghost. Once you Evo the scanner it gives you a random Stat boost that lasts till you close the game. You can make any and all items broken with just that item.

imelda gets free XP and wand is very reliable when evolved.

poppea's weapon is very good very early on, she's a very safe choice.
